At the recent The Carlsbad Department of Development Annual Banquet, our Pearl of the Pecos Arts & Cultural District received the “Community Impact Award” in recognition of POP’s designation as a state-authorized Arts and Cultural District earlier this year. Both
POP and MainStreet Executive Director, Kat Davis, and previous MainStreet Director, Karla Niemeier accepted awards for their work in achieving this goal which started in 2018.
In addition to this recognition for our organization, another district business was honored during the banquet. Milton's Brewing received the "Quality of Life" award for all the wonderful events, programming, and experiences they brought to our community.

Congrats to Milton's on their well-deserved award, and we at Carlsbad MainStreet are thrilled to have been recognized and honored at the banquet 🥳

There will not be a Farmer’s Market this Thursday! Instead please enjoy the parade that starts at 9am and head on down to the beach to enjoy the all-day festivities hosted by the City of Carlsbad NM Government, and join us on Saturday 7/6 for our First Saturday event!

Carlsbad MainStreet is proud to present The Outlaw Beauty Bar with their CavernFest Façade Grant check. We were lucky to have our New Mexico MainStreet Director, Daniel Gutierrez, join our board and staff for the presentation. Their new awning was installed just in time to make its debut at CavernFest 2024, where thousands of people got to enjoy it! It is a stylish and practical addition to their building as well as a beautiful addition to our downtown. Thank you Outlaw Beauty Bar for participating in our CavernFest Façade Grant Program and helping us with our mission of making Downtown Carlsbad a lively and vibrant place.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Over the years Eddy County CASA has continued to serve 100’s of children that come into the Foster Care System, with no fault of their own. To keep Eddy County CASA operating and serving these children we need volunteers. It takes only 1 hour a month of your time. Good morning: We have had residents ask us about ways to help families displaced by the South Fork Fire. We have been informed that the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is sending in a donations management team and will be providing information on the best ways to help. We will help share that information as it becomes available.

We know there are a number of local churches and businesses also offering assistance and sincerely appreciate everything being done. Please stay tuned.
