This traffic stop resulted in the arrest of one adult male for the following offenses, Possession of Ma*****na, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Dealing in Ma*****na, and Dealing in a Controlled Substance.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office will decide the final charges in this case. Thank you for a job well done!

The Carmel Police Department has been made aware of telephone scam calls that appear to be from the Carmel Police Department and the suspects identify themselves as being Detective Scott Long and other CPD officers. Be aware that CPD officers will not call anyone to threaten to arrest them or request payment for anything over the phone.
Here are a few tips to follow if you are contacted by a possible telephone scammer:
-Caller ID names and telephone numbers can be “spoofed,” or made to appear as something different, such as a legitimate police department name or telephone number
-If a caller claims to be an employee of the Carmel Police Department, do not hesitate to call our published non-emergency numbers (317-571-2580 or 317-773-1282) directly to confirm the information and ask to be transferred to the employee
-Remain calm and do not let the caller pressure you into doing something that does not sound or feel right
Deputy Chief Schoeff, Sgt. Govin, Officers D. Commodore, Garcia, Gilmore, Gregory, Rodriguez, Zimmerman, and CCS Admin Natalie Deitsch had a great week of training in Phoenix, AZ at the NASRO conference to expand their knowledge and training. We are blessed with the best!
