WE ARE HIRING!! Halo Salon is looking for talented stylists to join our team! We are a full service salon and spa, comprised of independent stylists, an ER doctor in the house that does medical grade aesthetics, and two additional aestheticians that work for Dr. Emily. We value creating a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for our guests. It’s important to all of us that our clients leave feeling that they were listened to, cared for, and more beautiful than they already were when they walked in! DM Ashley Brummett Reed if interested in joining our incredible team/family! We currently have two chairs available for rent!
Please join me for lunch on Monday March 13! I will be discussing injectables and skincare. For those who may not know me- I am Dr. Emily Luerssen, the owner of Stillwater Skin and Med Spa, and I work out of the room by the processing area. The lunch will be inside Halo Salon back in that area. Please RSVP to reserve your spot!
Please join us for this event! We will be talking about Morpheus8 face and body treatments. There will be drinks, apps, giveaways and mini consultations by Dr. Luerssen. RSVP today! Call or txt 317-760-0122 to reserve your spot.

Hey, Halo Fam! Covid is wreaking havoc on all of us and our clients and families. Because it seems so transmissible and contagious right now, we are going to strongly suggest masks again for a bit. We know they aren’t perfect in protecting everyone fully, but it just seems like we are all moving targets at the moment. Seems like it can’t hurt to take every precaution and do whatever possible to keep our guests and ourselves safe. Longing for the day we don’t have to have this conversation anymore!!!
Hey Halo fam! Just wanted to give our favorite people an update to say we are sticking to our same Covid guidelines for now. We are getting closer than farther away to the possibility of lightening things up, but we as staff mostly agree that it’s a bit too soon. Our main goal is to make the majority feel as comfortable as possible and it doesn’t feel quite right to totally let up quite yet. So masks still required! Thank you for understanding and being in this with us and always so supportive! We couldn’t do it without you!
SO PROUD OF OUR SALON SISTER TODAY!!❤️❤️❤️

To my lovely clients,
I am reaching out to you to let you all know of my retirement from Halo Salon effective 8/4.
As many of you may know, there has been some significant changes in our our family in the past 6 months, but the most recent is that Mike has accepted a job in Cincinnati, that will require him to commute during the week. During this season of life, we feel like it is vitally important that I am home as much as possible to be with our kids.
This decision has been a difficult one for me emotionally because you, my clients, are some of the most important people in my life. I am my most creative, artistic, and vulnerable self with you. We share family events, vacation stories and celebrations of life and death. We laugh, cry and laugh until we cry. You are my friends, neighbors & influencers. The relationship we have is unique in that we share all.the.things. I simply love you all. Many of you, I will see in normal life, but for those I don’t, please.. friend me on Facebook or Instagram and call me for lunch or dinner. I will miss my one on one time with you immensely!
The rest of the ladies at Halo are my ‘Salon Sisters’. In my adult life, they are my only co-workers since beginning this career in 1997. We share a unique bond and relationship with each other, and for that I will be forever grateful. Hopefully, they won’t kick me out of the group chat! Haha!
I encourage you to reach out to Maggie (317) 345-0758 or Amanda (317) 709-2486 to take over your hair needs, they are great, friendly and supremely capable. I will text you all your color history after your last appointment with me, so that you can share it with them when you see them.
Thank you all for your love, support, and confidence in my chair the last several years. You are the best! Truly!
You are loved!
Heather Good
Special thank you to Jeff Clayton and Vertis Therapy for the donation of masks and hand sanitizer for the salon! Thank you for supporting us and helping us get back to work safely!
We are so close to getting back to you! After a long zoom meeting today, we have a plan in place with everyone’s safety being our main priority. To continue with social distancing in the salon, we are staggering our start dates as stylists. Your stylist will be reaching out to you individually in the coming days to let you know how they are moving forward. There will be things that are permanent changes in the salon and then some that are temporary. Please know we want to get back to our “normal” salon experience as soon as we can, but for now we have some limitations. Thank you for being so supportive and understanding of our small business. Expect more detailed information from your stylists and/or esthetician as soon as they can get it to you. Excited to see your faces soon!
I wanted to give you as best an update as we can on where we are in our process to re-open. I know this will come as a disappointment to many, but we are not rushing to get back at the very first opportunity we can. We don’t know when the Governor is going to let us go back at this point. But we need time. We have been doing anything we can at the moment, but also anticipating we will have a long list of new requirements that we will have to comply with when we are released to open. As you all know, finding basic cleaning supplies is hard enough right now, much less face masks and gloves, etc. We will have to figure out how we continue to social distance in the salon, how many of us can work at a time and even change the days we work. We love you all so much and we want to get back to enjoying our time with you in the salon. We will not be able to shove our schedules full to get you all back in and make up for the lost time from each other. We have a lot to tackle before we even start, on top of learning how to work in these crazy conditions. As much as we want to work again, we also have to decide how much risk we are willing to expose ourselves and our families to, to be able to do this thing we love. We will not be able to see our extended family and friends again as soon as we start working, because we won’t be as safe anymore as we are in isolation. Many of us have people in our families in compromised health situations and we make a choice to not be with them anytime soon, as soon as we start working. This is bigger than all of us and I can’t stand it. I don’t want any of this! I’m incredibly sorry to have to be a Debbie Downer and share this depressing information. We just want you all to understand what all it will take for us to be together again. Today, it all feels like a very heavy ordeal and more than we know what to do with. We are taking it one day at a time and making decisions as we feel equipped to make them! Thank you all for being so incredibly patient with us and understanding we are working hard behind the scenes! As soon as we know that we can safely get back to you, we will do it!
We are more sad than you could imagine that we have to keep the salon closed for now. We aren’t going to state a re-opening date at this time because things change every day. We are hoping and praying that we can return sooner than later! Your stylists will be in touch with you as we navigate the unknown and try to reschedule appointments. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy! We can’t wait to get back behind the chair and love on you and your hair!
After much, much, much, MUCH deliberation and prayer, we have decided to close Halo for the time being so we can assure that we are doing our part in slowing down the spread of Covid-19. We know that this will be a massive inconvenience for our guests. This virus has a certain sneakiness about it, being that any one of us could be walking around as a carrier and never have a symptom or actually become sick. It is because of that unpredictability that we feel like we have no other choice than to follow the rules of what our Government officials are asking, and stay home. We care about our loved ones, our families and friends, and our guests so much. It is important to the Halo girls that we protect all of those loved ones and guests, as much as we can control. If your stylist hasn’t already been in contact with you, she will be in the coming days to reschedule you as best we can with the timeline we have in mind currently. Trust us, we want to remedy this situation as quickly as we can. Please be patient with us as we navigate a confusing situation and try our best to get you all back in as soon as possible. Your stylist will contact you as soon as they can as well!
I, Ashley, just have to say....as a small business owner and just a basic human being in general, I can’t even believe I had to type the words that I just did. This is surreal and unbelievable for most of us. This situation is crazy and probably only going to get more so over the coming weeks and months. It’s completely unchartered waters for all of us. I am committed to, in my unplanned time off, to be praying for all of us. Especially for the people on the front lines who are facing this head on. I am praying for everyone involved in making decisions for us in this country, our states, cities and towns, that they have clarity and wisdom to do what is best to remedy the situation. I pray that we all can be extra patient with each other. That we can remember to call each other and check on our friends who may not be okay. That we can keep our faith in Jesus and not in things that promise nothing. That most of all, we can make the most of being forced to slow down and make time to look our people in their eye balls and learn more about them than we ever have. We will all be okay...as long as we stick together! Big businesses will hurt from this ordeal no doubt. My guess is they will survive. Small businesses, the self-employed, service industry workers....they are all in a panic in their minds and wondering how they will make ends meet and keep things afloat. Think about sending your favorite server a surprise tip, go to your local restaurant for carry-out even though we can’t dine in, shop your local butcher and smaller markets. Remember to support them like our amazing clients have always supported us and kept us in business from the beginning. Think about how you can shop different, even though our travel is limited at the moment 😑. It matters more than you know! We look forward to being back to “business as usual” and will keep you posted as we know those details ourselves. We thank you for all of your love and support, and the outpouring of encouragement we have received from so many people! Praying this all passes as fast as possible and we all stay safe and healthy!
Love always,
Your Halo Girls
Dear faithful and always supportive salon friends,
We spent the day deep cleaning the salon and putting measures in place to keep us as sanitary as we always are. We are keeping our doors open as long as we are allowed. To do so, we express again that we cannot have anyone sick, or who have been exposed to others who are sick, show up for their appointments. If you are a person of high risk, we also suggest that you reschedule your appointment. If you are a care-giver to elderly people, we suggest you reschedule. We unfortunately cannot accommodate kiddos that are older than those in an infant seat. We will change out capes with every guest. We bought a plethora of pens so if you use one to sign a credit card receipt, you can just take it with you (or just bring your own). We have a sanitizing station at our front desk. Bring your own reading material! Our magazines are gone ☹️. We will though, continuously wipe down areas that have human contact and do the best we can there.
I, Ashley, spent the day on the phone with several other salon owners. We are all trying to do what is best for our employees and our clients, and of course our families. We are an industry that bands together, at least around here, and I am so grateful. My head is spinning. I am fearful for a lot of reasons. We don’t make money if we don’t work. We don’t have benefit packages that pay us vacation days or PTO. We have massive overhead. We are sole income providers, single moms, caretakers of elderly parents in some cases, asthmatic kiddos and families, growing babies, immune system disorders and other medical issues. We are weighing whether or not we risk exposing ourselves and exposing others, or grave financial distress.
With all that being said, we all need some happy moments in our lives right now. Self care is crucial in surviving what we are all facing. We hope we can be a part of that self-care for as long as possible. We, at this point, are on a day to day basis. We are a sanitary environment and will continue as such. We will continue to love on you and care for our guests for as long as we can! We can all get through this if we work together! Thank you for loving us so well and always being so good to us. Praying, praying, praying for all of us!!!!
To the guests at Halo,
We know how difficult this time is amid concerns of the COVID-19 and social distancing. As parents ourselves, we know how hard it is to navigate the loss of scheduled time to run errands and have appointments. Understanding the risk for our entire clientele and community, and doing our very best to follow recommendations by the CDC, we kindly ask that you come to your scheduled appointment alone. We cannot accommodate children or guests who do not have scheduled appointments in the salon. We are confident that we can all work together during this unprecedented season.
We love you!
Here is yet another post that I am sure you all are tired of seeing and hearing about, but we must say anyway. We are taking extra precautions at Halo Salon as to not contribute to the spread of this flu and any other for that matter. If you are sick or your family is sick, we expect that you would reschedule your appointment. We promise we will do our best to get you back in as soon as possible. We have lots of people who are in compromised situations as clients and staff. We love everyone too much to want to add to it! We at Halo have always washed our hands, we are still washing our hands, and won’t stop washing our hands anytime soon! And we know good hair is like a magical gift! But so we can keep providing a lovely experience and create that magic, we need you to be healthy and keep us healthy! Thank you for understanding and always being so supportive of all of us Halo girls!
