Our very own Ms. Lisa Merrell is a shining example of just how possible recovery is. We could not be more proud of all the hard work she has put in to making her life better. She credits peer support as a major contributing factor to her success. At the heart of peer support is lived experience. Peer support programs provide interventions which promote socialization, recovery, wellness, self-advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills. With September being Addiction Recovery Awareness Month, we felt it was important to highlight just how possible recovery is, especially when utilizing local peer support programs. We invite anyone who is struggling right now to join us Mondays from 5:30pm-7:30pm and Wednesdays from 1:00pm-2:00pm for All Recovery and NAMI Peer Support. We hope that you are able to recognize just how real recovery from addiction or mental illness can be.
You are never alone in this fight. If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out to the National Su***de and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 for immediate support. 🌈 Help is available 24 hours a day in both English and Spanish.
