The pandemic laid bare shortcomings of our health care system and the lack of access for some residents to healthy foods, medical insurance, mental health services, medical providers, and other resources and services that enable all Georgians to stay healthy. We must continue to unpack why we’re seeing racial disparities in maternal and infant health to improve Georgia’s health care system, health-focused services, and care for mothers. https://bit.ly/40Z2m6m

Milestones Monday: Your 4-year-old is quickly learning about the world around them. Take time to answer those “why” questions. And remember-it’s okay if you don’t know all the answers. This can be a perfect time to model how to look for answers in a book, safely search on the internet with a grown-up’s help, or find other trusted adults who can help us with our questions! For tips on how to support your child’s development, visit development.decal.ga.gov and download the CDC’s FREE Milestones Tracker App

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is urging Georgians to be cautious about eating pre-cut cantaloupe if they cannot verify its source. At least five people in Georgia have become infected with Salmonella, likely due to eating the contaminated cantaloupe. Across the country, 117 people have also been sickened, nearly half requiring hospitalization.

🚨 Exciting News from CPD! 🚨
Meet our newest addition - Officer Ranger! 🌟🦌👮♂️
Officer Ranger is not your typical officer; in fact, he's quite the character – literally! 😜
He's here to spread joy, laughter, and maybe a bit of holiday magic throughout our community! We want to give a special "thank you" to the students of Carrollton Elementary School for naming our new friend and co-worker!
Originally scheduled to begin patrolling the streets in 2024, Officer Ranger couldn't wait to get into action. He showed up a few weeks early, determined to help us track down and apprehend the notorious holiday mischief-maker – none other than the Grinch himself! 🎄👀
Our brave Officer Ranger has been spotted wearing his festive attire, antlers and all and already on the lookout for any signs of the Grinch's shenanigans. 👀🦌
He's armed with candy canes, cheer, and a sense of humor to bring a smile to everyone's face.
📢 Officer Ranger's mission: Keep the peace, spread joy, and make sure the Grinch's heart grows three sizes by December 25! 🎁💖
Stay tuned for updates on Officer Ranger's adventures as he works tirelessly to bring cheer to Carrollton and keep an eye out for that sneaky Grinch! 🎅🚓
Everyone is invited to attend!
