I took this young man flying today in celebration of his 80th birthday. He hasn't flown in a few years and wanted to see the Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe from the air. James Parker developed the airport we know as Parker Carson airport. At one time, EAA Chapter 403 was based threre.
Member spotlight: David Baird
David and his wife Margo moved to Carson City in 2013. The couple had moved from Kansas where David started flying in 2007. Since then he has owned two Cherokee aircraft and now owns a Cardinal 177RG. David and Margo joined chapter 403 in 2017. Since then, they both have been volunteering for the chapter.
David has served as Vice President and President. He is currently facilities manager for chapter 403.
David Baird presenting Lucas O'Brian with new Lightspeed Zulu 3 Headset. These headsets are donated by Lightspeed to Ray Scholarship recipients. Lucas was awarded the Zulu 3 based on an essay that he submitted.

Last Saturday's Young Eagles event was huge success. Over one hundred kids got to fly. Thanks Larry C. and all the volunteers .

Young Eagles/Pancake Breakfast (Non-fly) Orientation and Principles of Flight
This event is for kids ages 8-17 years old that are interested in aviation. Pilots will be discussing the Principles of Flight and general information about aircraft and flying. We will also be discussing our Young Eagles Program and how kids can get a free flights in an aircraft.
For repeat Young Eagles -- Please bring your logbooks
This is a non-flying event.

8:00 am Terminal Bldg for the Orientation & Principles of Flight (FREE)
9:00 am EAA Chapter House for the Pancake Breakfast, $ 7.00/adult, $5.00/kid

Chapter 403 flyout to Willows CA. last Sunday. 4 RV'S and a nice breakfast at Nancy's diner.
Our recent EAA Ray Aviation scholar Spenser Bray giving us a quick look at one of his solo cross country’s required for his training. A beautiful day for a flight, all funded by the EAA Ray Aviation, and made comfortable with the Zulu 3 headset provided to this scholar to continue his training!
Scholarships are available to any youth willing to work to achieve their dreams!
