76% fire containment has been reached. Crews worked diligently to increase containment lines along the Northern perimeter near Callahan Ranch towards Mt. Rose Highway and the Joy Lake area. Evacuation areas are being evaluated to determine when it may be safe for residents to return home.

Crews continued to locate and extinguish hot spots over night. Today crews will be going further interior to mop-up. The sensitivity on the Infared flight sensor was increased which makes it easier to locate hot spots.

Important update for Friday, Sept. 13🚨
Based on current evacuation zones and updated information, the following three schools will be canceled on Friday, September 13. They are: Galena High School, Marce Herz Middle School, and Hunsberger Elementary School.

Evacuation Update for the for September 12th
The following area has been downgraded from an Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Warning. This means that residents in this area are allowed to return to their homes.
North of SR431 and East of Timberline Drive
South of SR431 and All Neighborhoods East of and accessed by Callahan Road

As you return home, please use an abundance of caution. There are a multitude of first responders moving about the area as the fire is still active and firefighting efforts continue. As this is an active fire, there remains the possibility that evacuation levels can change. Remain ready to leave if needed.
SR431 (Mt Rose Highway) will remain CLOSED at Bordeaux Drive

Firefighters successfully maintained fire lines throughout the challenging conditions of yesterday and overnight, even under Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) red flags. Today brings cooler weather and higher relative humidity providing a welcome relief as they continue their crucial work through today.
TMFPD welcomes our southern Nevada strike team that will staff some of their fire stations beginning today while our firefighters are on the providing more firefighting capability and capacity. Our community is thankful you are here. 🙏🏼🚒🇺🇸

WCSD continues to collaborate with public safety officials to monitor the movement of the and determine the safest plan for our students and staff members tomorrow.
The press conference tonight was reassuring, highlighting the progress made in fighting the Davis Fire. Governor Lombardo, along with officials from local and state agencies, summarized the collaborative efforts and the significant resources deployed to combat the fire and minimize stress within the community.
