We’re spending this Saturday morning working with our driver fleet! We hold quarterly driver meetings to communicate updates for the company, review policies that are coming into effect, and work with local authorities to further our driver training. This morning we’re grateful to have CHP Officer Werner talk to our team to refresh our hazmat knowledge.

We'd like to thank Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal and our associates from the CTA for visiting our headquarters to discuss forward steps in the logistics and transportation industry.

Why do we utilize rail to truck transload?

By transporting through rail and utilizing trucks for last-mile deliveries, companies are able to move product more efficiently. This allows for more cost-effective and more sustainable product movement. Rail to truck transloading acts as the bridge between rail and road networks to keep the supply chain moving smoothly.

Specialty equipment is something we at Ventura Transfer Company take a good deal of pride in. Transloading can dictate the need for specialized pumps, pressurization, filtering, and more.

Our in-house engineering team works to create specialized transfer unit carts, air scrubbers, and more to ensure that specialty chemicals can be transferred safely and efficiently. They work closely with our safety program to ensure that safety is prioritized.

Our safety team reviews any products that we are proposed to be handling to ensure that we have the capabilities to safely handle any chemicals that come into our yards. They are also stringent on the use of air monitor meters to detect high levels of concentration of products in the air as an added layer of security and ensure that we are always in regulations with air quality permits.

By prioritizing these things, we can ensure that we have the resources available long before a product is in our hands.

We’re proud to have received a certificate of recognition for being in compliance with wastewater discharge limits and permit requirements of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts for Year 2022.

In honor of the innocent lives lost

Last week our company participated in our third Safe+Sound Week. Led by OSHA, Safe+Sound Week is a nationwide event to recognize the adoption of programs to improve workplace safety and health. Safety is a critical component to any workplace, and is a top priority at Ventura Transfer Company.

The week consisted of various activities focusing on different aspects of health and safety. This year involved a pledge to safety utilizing the Responsible Care Guiding Principles; a quiz on our knowledge of company-specific safety policies; some mental health and wellness de-stress activities; a VERY creative safety poster challenge for each department; and a sorting game to test our knowledge of this summer’s safety campaign, heat related illnesses. We closed the week with a celebratory barbecue full of fun and chocolate covered fruit.

We had an incredible time earlier this month, enjoying a day of fun and games, amazing bar-b-que, and awesome prizes.

From testing our superhero skills with group challenges to showing off our superhuman coordination with the water balloon toss, every moment was filled with energy and excitement. Adults and kids alike got the opportunity to meet and interact with some of our favorite superheroes and take some memorable photos! The delicious bar-b-que, ice cream, and treats were the perfect fuel for our super-powered adventures, and the prizes made the day even more special. Our super picnic was definitely a unique and unforgettable experience that filled a warm summer day with joy and community!
