- Cover pools and spas to reduce water loss from evaporation!
When used, solid pool covers can decrease evaporation by more than 90%.

Additionally, turn off or set a timer on water features like fountains that create turbulence and increase evaporation resulting in water lost to wind or splashing.

Intuit Dome is our newest recycled water customer and boasts one of the largest dual-plumbing water systems in the District and County of Los Angeles! West Basin, with oversight from the Los Angeles County Public Health Department, completed a successful cross-connection test over the span of two days to ensure the recycled water system and the potable, drinking water system are completely separate.

Before we connect to any recycled water site, West Basin performs meticulous testing to ensure the integrity of our recycled water infrastructure. More than 1,000 toilets are connected to recycled water at Intuit Dome, reducing wait times and improving the overall fan experience! We are so excited for this partnership and welcome the Intuit Dome to Inglewood! 🎉 🏀 💧

National Water Quality Month calls us to pause and reflect on the significance of water sources, what are crucial not only for humans but also for the diverse inhabitants of ecosystems. This month focuses on maximizing our use of the limited fresh water available, recognizing that clean water is essential for our personal health, agricultural requirements, and environmental sustainability.

Here are a few things you can do to improve our water quality:
⏩ Dispose of medications and chemicals properly, do not flush or pour down the drain!
⏩ Reduce water usage by capturing rainwater runoff with a rain barrel to use on plants.
⏩ Wash your car at a car wash! Prevents toxic chemicals from being flushed down the storm drains.

State Water Project supplies could fall up to 23% within 20 years due to climate change 08/01/2024

Great read by the LA Times on the evolving water supplies in CA.

The need for smart management of our water resources and water use efficiency is evident now more than ever. As cyclical drought and a changing climate continue to impact the state's water supplies, we look forward to working with our partner agencies, community members, and businesses to practice water conservation as a way of life.

State Water Project supplies could fall up to 23% within 20 years due to climate change The Newsom administration is projecting that California's State Water Project could lose up to 23% of its water delivering capacity within 20 years.

This past weekend, West Basin's employee-led Green Team volunteered at the Friends of Ballona Wetlands for a habitat restoration event. Alongside over 30 other volunteers, the team removed invasive species to protect native species. These efforts also support the habitat for the El Segundo Blue Butterfly -- an endangered species endemic, or local, to the coastal Los Angeles communities.

We love the opportunity to support these sustainable initiatives and give back to the community!
