Our ASI Board members and student staff had a fantastic time visiting the CSUDH Urban Farm! They got their hands dirty planting seeds, took home fresh veggies, and even fed the chickens. 🌿🐔 We learned that most produce grown at the farm supports food-insecure students and is distributed to campus and local nonprofits. In observance of Juneteenth, the ASI office will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th. This day commemorates the struggles faced by Black Americans, celebrates their achievements, and reminds us that the journey for equality continues.

Last week, ASI President, Edgar, Vice President of Finance, Marcelo, and Director of Legislative Affairs, Adilene, had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Juneteenth Symposium hosted by and , along with CSUDH staff, faculty and fellow students. The Panetta Institute serves the entire CSU system plus several other schools. The Institute provides a variety of study opportunities in government, politics and public policy, and sponsors a range of other programs!
 
Their Congressional Internship Program gives selected students from throughout the CSU system, an opportunity to get a firsthand look at the legislative process by working in a congressional office in Washington, D.C. Their annual Leadership Seminar provides student-body officers with skills to meet leadership challenges on campus, in local communities and in future public service.
