Great News from Principal Alden!

Dear TMSA Triangle Apex (7-12) and TMSA Apex 7th Grade Community,

I have some wonderful news for you!

After weeks of tireless effort and dedication, our team has successfully secured the Certificate of Occupancy for our new high school building.

We are excited to announce that we will officially begin school in person on Monday, August 19th.

This is a milestone in our journey together. It will not only signify the start of a new academic year but also the beginning of a new era, of a bright future for all TMSA. Our new building will provide our students with a vibrant and conducive learning environment that fosters growth, innovation, and excellence.

Last two weeks were very challenging for us all. Your encouragement and understanding have been invaluable during this time. I cannot thank you enough!

My team will soon share more details regarding the first week of school and orientation activities.

Dear parents and students;

The TMSA Board convened today, August 10, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. and approved a delay in the start date for all three TMSA Wake County campuses (TMSA Triangle - Apex, TMSA Triangle - Cary, and TMSA Apex) to Monday, August 19th. If the TMSA Triangle High School building is still not ready by Monday, the 19th, students in grades 7-12 will begin asynchronous instruction, while K-6 students at TMSA Apex and TMSA Cary will commence in-person classes.

The delay was caused by a malfunctioning elevator breaker that failed the state inspection and an unrecorded water easement. We are working to resolve these issues within the next 2-3 days.

TMSA Cary Campus families, we hope everyone continues to remain safe as the remnants of tropical storm Debby move out of the area. We are committed to ensuring this is the best school year possible for all of our scholars and thank you for your patience. Due to several previously scheduled training sessions, there are a few changes to the schedule to be aware of for tomorrow.

3rd grade orientation - Friday, August 9 - 11:00-12:45
- Meet the teachers
- Receive important information from administration
- Please DO NOT bring school supplies. Teachers will let you know when to bring them.

4th and 5th grade orientation - Canceled
- Orientation for 4th and 5th grade students will be on Monday, August 12th during their regular school hours.
- Parents will receive a recording and slide show tomorrow containing important information for the beginning of the year which will include information about student schedules, homeroom teachers, and where students will go when they arrive Monday morning.
- We are working on rescheduling a time for parents to join us in the building to meet the amazing teachers.
- Teachers will let parents know when to send in school supplies.

Principal Alden's Letter Regarding Open House Cancelation and Moving Forward to First Day of School:

Dear TMSA Triangle Apex 7-12 Community,

Good Morning,

We hope you are all safe and well as Hurricane Debby passes.

We understand your concerns regarding the cancellation of the Open Houses due to safety precautions caused by Hurricane Debby. We explored all options to hold the event, but ultimately prioritized everyone's safety.

As parents ourselves, we recognize your desire to see the new building and meet the dedicated faculty before the school year begins on Monday. We completely share this sentiment.

Rest assured, your students will benefit from two days of comprehensive in-school orientation. This will provide them with a chance to explore the building, meet their teachers, understand their schedules, learn school procedures, and feel comfortable in their new environment. A dedicated team of teachers, administrators, and staff are ready to welcome your children and make them feel at home.

To further address your needs, we will be emailing detailed Open House presentations. These presentations will cover crucial information about the school, including curriculum, daily operations, and carpool procedures (especially for the first week of school due to the unfinished student walkway). We've already begun sharing student schedules.

We knew we had a fantastic year in 2023-2024, and our students’ performance on the AP exams testifies to it!

The College Board has informed us that in 2023-2024, our high school administered 620 AP exams, with 205 students taking at least one exam. Of these, 173 students passed their exams, resulting in an impressive 84.39% passing rate.

This achievement has also surpassed our pre-COVID performance level of an 82% passing rate!

We couldn't be prouder of our students' accomplishments. Thank you to our amazing students, supportive parents, and hardworking staff for making this achievement possible.

We have formed a fantastic team at TMSA Triangle Apex High School Campus, and we are looking forward to making history with many more achievements in our new $60M high school building.

🎨 Exciting News for TMSA Triangle High School 🌟

We are thrilled to announce an inspirational meeting between our talented high school students and the renowned mural artist, Taylor White! 🖌️✨

Students had the opportunity to talk to White and ask her about how she applied the artwork. White explained how she went through the process of applying different symbols as a layer and then applying the actual mural pieces that finally shows the TMSA Tiger mascot as well as TMSA motto 'Science Wisdom and Peace' in the background.

Students then took a picture together with White.

The artwork is 25 ft high and roughly 18 ft wide. It took about 2 weeks to complete.

City of Cary Business Manager Mr. Bryan Hayes visited our Apex campus. Mr. Hayes met with Apex Principal Mr. Alden, Cary Principal Mr. Cobanli and TMSA Marketing Coordinator Mr. Sahin. Mr. Hayes was given a tour of the school and discussed partnership with the schools, City of Cary and Cary Chamber of Commerce.
