We are having our next flu shot clinic on October 26th from 2-5pm.
This is a drive up clinic where we bring the flu shot to you while in your vehicle. It is a great opportunity to vaccinate children easily from their carseats or an alternative for patients with mobility concerns.
If you would like to schedule give us a call at 919-378-1492.
Happy Friday from your WWW Team!
We will offer the first of our 2023 flu vaccine clinics on Wednesday 9/20 from 1:30 - 5:00 pm.
This is an easy drive-thru option, where we bring the vaccine right to your car window. Receive the same excellent care we offer all our patients, now without having to even leave your vehicle!
Parents of young children and adults with mobility issues may find the drive-thru clinic especially helpful.
Please call us to schedule your appointment - (919) 378-1492.

Narcan (also called naloxone) is a safe, effective medication which can help in the event of an accidental opioid medication overdose.
Naloxone quickly reverses an overdose by blocking the effects of opioids. It can restore normal breathing within 2 to 3 minutes in a person whose breath has slowed, or even stopped, as a result of opioid overdose.
You can order it FREE from this organization:

Yes the power is out due to the hurricane - but we’re seeing our last few acute patients using flashlights and cell phones!
Over the years, we’ve shared many patients with the Women’s Birth & Wellness Center in Chapel Hill. The founder of the birth center, Maureen Darcey, was a talented midwife whose vision gave thousands of families a safe “home away from home” to welcome their newborns. WBWC provided a unique service to the community, and provided compassionate, high quality clinical care for over 8,000 newborns and families.
We are saddened to report that the WBWC will be closing permanently on 9/30. There are no longer any midwives working at WBWC, but one medical assistant will be available this week to handle medical record requests.
We urge any of our patients who received gynecological or obstetric services at WBWC to request your medical records NOW. Once the practice closes, it will be much more difficult to have records transferred. Records for mothers and infants may be separate, so please ask for both.
Call our office today to schedule your Moderna Bivalent COVID Booster at 919-378-1492.
We have a drive up clinic scheduled on Sept 22, 2022 from 1-5pm or limited vaccine appointments available most days. The Moderna Bivalent vaccine is for ages 18+.
ACUTE LIVER FAILURE CAUSES (in order of frequency)
#1 - Acetaminophen overdose
#2 - Herbal or "natural" supplements over the counter
Supplements are NOT REGULATED.
If you are taking a "natural herb" that you purchased over the counter, it has not been evaluated for efficacy or safety.
There is no verification that it contains the substance on the label, or that other contaminants or toxins are not present.
The dose has not been checked for accuracy.
Herbal supplements are the second most common cause of acute liver failure in the US. Supplements should be regulated by the FDA just like prescription medications - consumers deserve to know that what they're purchasing is safe - but supplement manufacturers spend millions on lobbyists to block legislation that would increase oversight over the dietary supplement industry.
Your health is important to us. Please talk to your doctor before starting any over the counter dietary or herbal supplement.

Flu shots are in!
We will be having a drive-up flu clinic on Thursday, September 22 from 1-5pm in the parking lot. If you are interested, please call us at 919-378-1492 or send a portal message.
Western Wakes family grew by one precious little baby this week ♥️. Congrats to Maggie Tyni NP on the birth of her healthy baby girl.
She will be out on Maternity Leave for a few months. Please be patient with us while we are short a provider; our other physicians will be working hard to fill her shoes while she enjoys baby snuggles.
Friday August 12th is International Youth Day!
Our office will be closed, however we will review incoming messages sent via telephone or patient portal.
We invite you to celebrate this international day of awareness, celebrating the young people, youth-led organizations, governments and others who are working to transform education and uplift young people everywhere.
Our youngest patients amaze us constantly with their creativity, compassion and curiosity. ❤️
MG's Vision & lights on Holt Road continues to do amazing work raising money for Ukraine. If you are in a position to help, donations of airline miles or money will help families escape the war. I’ve always loved MG’s Christmas lights, and now I also love his generous heart. His organization is now a tax-deductible 501-3c charity as well. ❤️
Happy 4th!
Happy 4th of July.
This is the busiest week of the year for hand trauma and eye trauma.
Please be careful out there! 🇺🇸
Today we honor Juneteenth, the anniversary of the day that black people in Texas got the news that slavery was abolished, 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Happy Father’s Day to all the terrific Dads out there! ❤️
Top story in my newsfeed this morning is an urban legend being reported by a Tennessee sheriff’s office (and promoted by USA Today) that powdered fentanyl is being left wrapped in dollar bills to poison unsuspecting victims. First of all - who leaves their valuable cash and drugs just lying around like that? Literally no addict in any universe. Secondly, fentanyl DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. It’s a myth. Infographic from emergency physician and addiction specialist Ryan Marino.
In honor of those who served, we remember their sacrifice this Memorial Day.
