By the year 2030 half of the people in North America will have myopia (nearsightedness). This can lead to an increased future risk for vision loss. It is possible to slow progression and keep your child's eye healthier.
Nearsighted children tend to become more nearsighted each year. We can help with that progression!

Happy World Autism Day! April 2nd marks a day of awareness, acceptance, and understanding for individuals living with autism, as well as their families, caregivers, and communities. This year let's talk about the role of visual processing in shaping the experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum.
Visual processing is a crucial visual efficiency skill that influences how individuals perceive and interact with the world around them. Individuals with autism may have different visual processing techniques that provide differences and strengths in visual perception and interpretation.
On World Autism Day, it's vital to raise awareness not only about the challenges faced by individuals with autism but also about their strengths and capabilities. By understanding the intersection of autism and vision, we can promote greater acceptance and support for individuals on the spectrum.
Here are some ways to celebrate and support World Autism Day:
Educate Yourself
Promote Acceptance and Inclusion
Advocate for Accessibility
Spread Awareness

π§ March is Brain Injury Awareness Month! π§
Did you know that brain injuries can have a significant impact on visual function? Vision is an intricate process involving the brain's ability to interpret information received from the eyes. When the brain sustains an injury, whether through trauma or other means, it can disrupt this vital connection, leading to various visual challenges. Brain injuries can result in a range of visual issues, including double vision, blurred vision, light sensitivity, and difficulty with eye movements. These challenges can greatly affect daily activities such as reading, driving, and even walking safely.
Vision Therapy plays a crucial role in rehabilitating individuals with brain injuries, helping them regain visual function and improve their quality of life. The brain has a remarkable ability to adapt and rewire itself, known as neuroplasticity. Vision Therapy promotes neuroplasticity by stimulating neural pathways associated with vision, facilitating recovery and improvement in visual function.
During Brain Injury Awareness Month, let's shine a light on the importance of Vision Therapy in supporting individuals with brain injuries. By raising awareness and promoting access to specialized care, we can help more people achieve meaningful improvements in their visual function and overall well-being.
Together, let's envision a brighter future for brain injury survivors through the power of vision therapy! π‘
