UUOEF supports qualified high school student applicants ranging in age from 13 to 19. To qualify for funding, our students must submit proof that they have been orphaned due to the death of at least one of their parents.

We award financial assistance to the top applicants (which may include funds to cover room and board payments in addition to tuition) and commit to supporting the selected students until they graduate from high school, providing that the students continue to meet our academic standards.

UUOEF scholarships are weighted towards students who score well in mathematics, science and/or social science on applicable gain admission into either lower or upper secondary school or ‘Advanced Level’ entry class. When awarding scholarship, we make every effort to address the local cultural institutional biases that favor educating boys over girls. In Uganda, Advanced level high school education is required for admission into college and university.
