Ability Physical Therapy

We are pleased to announce we have an agreement with Ability Physical Therapy for athletic training services this upcoming school year. Madison Parks will be our new athletic trainer providing services. This is a great resource for our school to get student-athletes back on the field quicker following injuries. Attached below is a little biography on Madison. We cannot wait for her to start working with our student-athletes!!

​Madison graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with her master's degree in Athletic Training in 2024. Athletics has always been a huge part of her life, which sparked her interest in pursuing Athletic Training. While attending UNI Madison played softball and dealt with injuries of her own, allowing her to see both points of view as an athlete and healthcare provider. Her knowledge of orthopedic injuries, prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation allows her to keep her athletes safe and healthy throughout their sports season. As a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Iowa, Madison is excited to help her athletes and pursue her career in athletics.

LICENSED ATHLETIC TRAINER

Ability Physical Therapy is in search of a Full or Part Time Licensed Athletic Trainer to join our growing team! This person will provide athletic training support for local school athletic programs. The hours would consist mostly after school & evenings and/or weekends for sporting events. There is also the opportunity to work in the physical therapy clinics and/or fitness centers. The position will require that the applicant possess the evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer to perform services on school premises and at sporting events within their scope of practice such as:
• Recognize and evaluate injuries, treatment of minor injuries
• Provide first aid or emergency care
• Apply protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces
• Working with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals to set health and fitness goals
• Assisting and monitoring injured athletes as they heal and progress towards recovery
• Educate and implement comprehensive programs to prevent injury and illness among athletes
• Keeping records and writing reports on injuries and treatment programs
• Demonstrates a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times

LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST

Ability Physical Therapy is in search of a Licensed Massage Therapist to join our fun and fast growing team in our Solon location! The ideal candidate will possess the drive to provide top notch clinical care to our patients/clients whether that is in our massage setting or simply greeting them upon arrival. Although we offer a well-established clientele, we encourage this individual to help continue to build their practice.

Meet Taylor McIntosh, LMT!

Taylor graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in February 2024, after discovering her passion to help people feel and move better. She also is a certified personal trainer and has a B.A. in Psychology. In her free time she loves to go hiking with her 3 dogs, cooking, baking, working out and spending time with her husband and son. Taylor looks forward to working with the Ability Physical Therapy team!

In her spare time she enjoys time boating on the Wapsi and golfing with her husband.

Meet Adam!

Adam Clendenen, PT, DPT earned his B.S. degree from St. Ambrose university in May of 2019 while majoring in Exercise Science. Adam then returned to his hometown, Dubuque, Iowa, to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Clarke University where he graduated in May of 2023. Outside of work, Adam enjoys lifting, hiking, fishing, and watching the Hawkeyes.

Trooper Darren Flaherty assisted other first responders in using his AED when a RAGBRAI cyclist went into cardiac arrest near Charles City.
