We will have a Primary on August 13, to determine who will be on the General Ballot on November 5th.

Unfortunately, most people do not vote in the Primary, because most folks are not thinking about elections in August. But that means that a relatively small number of Minnesotans are making a big decision for all of us.

I am running for the open seat to represent the fine folks in District 1 on the Carver County Board. I hope that I can count on your vote on (or before) August 13, and again in November!

The City of Chanhassen has announced the 4th of July Parade has been cancelled due to forecasted rain and thunderstorm activity. The parade will not be rescheduled.

Shoot, I was ready to go, with car and candy!

Due to rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow evening, the Chanhassen annual fireworks display at Lake Ann Park will be postponed to Friday, July 12, at 10 PM. We know how much this event means to everyone, but rescheduling is necessary to ensure that it remains a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are looking to attend fireworks tonight, the Lake Waconia Fireworks and Lake Minnetonka (Excelsior) fireworks will be held at dusk on Wednesday, July 3.

Time marches on. As spring transitions into summer, I want to share a brief reminder about how important it is to vote! Our General Election will be held on November 5. BUT it is also VERY important to vote in our Primary Election on August 13! Vote in person on that date, or utilize early voting. Here is information to help you prepare:

I enjoyed attending a Strategic Planning Work Session for the Carver County Board of Commissioners at the Lake Waconia Regional Park this morning.

After the meeting I was able to take part in a quick tour of the park, including a boat ride to Coney Island and a walk through the many trails on the island. It was nice to see the progress being made within this beautiful park.

As a former legislator, I am proud to have been a co-author of a bill seeking funding for parts of that project, and a participant at a ground-breaking ceremony a few years back on the shore of Lake Waconia. It is pleasant to see how well and how quickly things are coming together!

The Chanhassen Legion and the City of Chanhassen hosted a Memorial Day Ceremony in downtown Chanhassen, in conditions that ranged from sunshine and humidity, to passing showers.

A good crowd was on-hand for the Chaska Memorial Day Ceremony at Veteran's Park. Despite scattered rain, and plenty of mosquitoes, it was nice to see a good turnout to pay tribute to our Veterans who have given so much to our nation.

It's official: I filed this morning to run for the District 1 seat on the Carver County Board of Commissioners. I would be proud to serve the fine residents of Chanhassen and Chaska, and all of Carver County. I believe my experience will be very helpful as we move into the future.
