After a two hour hostage situation involving a murder suspect at a gas station in the Ceredo Kenova area-- Kenova Police Chief Bob Sullivan tells 13 News that three hostages are safe and the original suspected gunman has died, after being shot as a result of the situation.

UPDATE: Ohio murder suspect was sighted in the Kenova area around 9 p.m. by two witnesses on 21st Street and Oak Street, according to Kenova Police Chief Bob Sullivan. A shelter in place is in effect.

Kanawha Charleston Health Department is offering free tetanus shots to those living and working in the flood zone.

The mobile site will be open tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chesapeake City Hall.

Stay safe as cleanup efforts continue!

A look at the aftermath in the Little Creek area up Slaughter Creek Road.

I’ve been here all morning since 9:30 a.m. and this is the farthest up the road we’ve been. The floodwaters have receded a bit, but the heavy lifting of cleaning up the debris is just starting.

Little Creek Road is only open to local traffic as of right now, DOH is asking anyone who doesn’t need to be in the area avoid it as work continues.
