Agatha Christie was a pharmacy technician. She first was a nurse during World War I, later becoming a pharmacy technician. Agatha then by using her knowledge in drugs as inspiration for her well-known novels.

Coca-Cola was invented by a pharmacist. In 1886, pharmacist John S. Pemberton created it as a treatment for most common ailments. Co***ne was one of the main ingredients and was legal at the time when it was invented and also in many medicines. It was thought at the time that it was safe to use in small amounts. Later, in 1903, the ingredient was replaced with caffeine.

Many UCSOP students call Puerto Rico home and we are so excited to celebrate this week with them. Help us out by wishing them a Feliz Semana Del Farmacéutico!

20% discount for UC Alumni to come to Pharmacy School!

We will welcome the next class of Golden Eagle graduates into the alumni community next weekend. Have you ever thought about coming back as a student?

Graduates of the University of Charleston can now pursue a graduate level degree at the university at a lower cost. A new alumni discount offers 20% off the published tuition for selected degree programs.

Programs eligible for the discount are: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Business and Data Analytics, Master of Science – Strategic Leadership, Master of Science – Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, and the Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL).

Students must have earned a degree from the University of Charleston and be admitted to one of the approved graduate degrees to be eligible for the discount. The discount cannot be combined with any other tuition discounts (military/law enforcement discount, etc.) with the exception of athletic scholarships.

On Saturday, March 23, the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy held its 3rd Annual Out-of-the-Darkness Walk. The Class of 2025, led by Autumn Smith and Baylee Beaver helped raise $2,300 dollars for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention.

The bad weather did not stop this important cause. Thank you to everyone who came out to support!
