UPDATE: Trixie has found her forever home.

EXTREMELY URGENT SITUATION

Charlotte NC

One of our adult foster needs a new home asap. Trixie is not doing well in my home. Another foster has started to attack her. Her son who's one year old won't leave her alone. We adopted him. The other foster, Bobbi, has medical issues and can't be rehomed right now. We don't know why after 10 months living in peace Bobbi is acting out. In may have to do with her illness but she's been sick for weeks. (She has been to a vet, had a complete blood work up and ultrasound.)
Trixie is a 3 year old spayed female Tortie Maine C**n mix. She's UTD on vaccinations. She is long haired and requires regular brushing.
She's super sweet and loving. She loves to cuddle and get all the attention. She still likes to play with toys and get belly rubs. She's a wonderful cat. She's very gentle, does head bunts and is good with dogs but needs to be 1 or less other cats. She fit in really well when she first arrived with her 4 kittens (all adopted).
Trixie has been acting frightened and accidentally pooped on the bed.
I'm hoping to get her adopted by the weekend. If she isn't, I'm going to have to find another foster. Since we're no longer taking in anymore kittens or cats our fosters have left.
If you're interested please pm me. We can set up a meet and greet.
You can also email at [email protected].

Photos from Precious Kittens Cat Rescue and Shelter's post 04/09/2023

One of my fosters needs to go to the vet for specialized testing to find out why she has continued diarrhea off and on. She's been on multiple medications with no success.
F***l examinations are all negative.
I'm concerned about a disease process like inflammatory bowel disease or colitis. The only way to diagnose the issue is with a full blood work up and an ultrasound. We don't have any funds for anything extensive as this vet bill would be. It will be well over $1000.
Bobbi has been with us since October 2021. She's a sweet loving cat. She's 3 years old spayed and UTD on her vaccinations. She loves to lay next to you while you watch TV as she snuggles on her favorite blanket.
We need donations or sponsors to help raise enough money to pay the estimated vet bill. She'll be going to Petco Healthcare 2025 E. Arbors Dr. Charlotte 28262. They've been caring for her a long time.

At this point we're no longer taking in anymore kittens or cats.
We have four adult cats yet to be adopted. Well stay on until they get their furever home.
Once that's completed Precious Kittens Cat Rescue will be shut down, unless we receive funding or sponsors.
We've enjoyed our over 2 years and more then 60 kittens and cats receiving their furever homes.
I now foster for Mecklenburg County Animal Care and Control. I take bottle babies or tube feeding baby kittens. I have 4 kittens right now that I've cared for since they were 12 days old. They're almost 5 weeks now.
They'll be ready for adoption by the end of the month. I know kittens are more adorable than adults. If anyone is interested please message me, Susan. I'm going to post pictures and bios soon.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my rescue, volunteers and especially the fosters.

SPECIAL NEEDS KITTY NEEDS A HOME.

Davidson NC

Pipsqueak or "Pip" is a approximately 4 month old spayed female kitten. Unfortunately she is positive for FeLV. She was tested twice and both times she was positive.
She's had her rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.
She was found September 25th next to a gutter weighing less than a pound and clinging to life. We took her in and nursed her back to life.
She’s playful and loves to snuggle. Tolerates my kids and loves on our dogs.
If you can give her a new home contact [email protected]. Precious Kittens Cat Rescue doesn't have the kitten. We're just trying to help out a fellow rescuer.

Stomatitis Dental X-rays Surgery for stray kitty, organized by Jessie Knott 01/07/2023

Stray cat needs help for dental surgery.
Hello! Hope you all had a great holiday season!

I’m reaching out to you because many people recommended I do so.

To sum it up as quickly as I can, A stray cat came to us on 12/14. Super sweet and seemed like she was lost. She was drooling profusely and her tongue was sticking out. I was concerned, however, wanted to see if we could locate her parents.

On 12/23, I took her to the vet since no one claimed her and she had flaming red gums. The vet said that she has stomatitis and the bear course of action to take is to get all her teeth pulled.

On 12/28 I took her to dr. Stephenson at Davis animal hospital. She said she looks like she is about 10 y/o and she definitely has severe stomatitis.

So here is where we are at with her. My hubby and I refuse to surrender her to anyone because we want to make sure she gets the care she deserves and NEVER feels abandoned again.

She tested negative for everything on her snap test THANK GOODNESS!

She will have an FME surgery on Jan 10 which we are putting on a credit card for now. Do you mind posting Lavenderps gofundme on ur page? I appreciate your time and listening to our story. It’s been a rough road trying to find what to do, but we are just happy we r able to help her even if we do go into a little debt ! It’s an honor and she is an absolute gem!

🎉.CONGRATULATIONS 🎉

Oreo has found his furever home here with me. We've officially adopted him into our fur family.
We've been fostering him for 5 months. He's become bonded to two of our cats. There's no way I'd ever break that up.
He's a cute and rambunctious little guy. He cries all the time and I'mwants to be picked up and cuddle.
He's afraid of his own shadow.
Pictures are of him and his new furever family.
First Princess and Mickey bonded and now Oreo has bonded to both of them.

It's BACK!!!!!
😺 Monday Quick Facts 😺

Do you think cats spend a lot of their time sleeping? Well in fact cats actually spend 70% of their lives sleeping, which works out to around 13-16 hours a day. It’s a cat’s life!

10/03/2022

Skittles was on WBTV QC@3. It was there New Leash on Life segment.
I recorded it on my phone and here it is. I edited as best I could.

We've had to close permanently due to lack of donations and funding. So we're not taking in anymore kittens or cats.
We're still caring for the kittens and cats that are in our rescue. Once they are all adopted, then we will close all of our accounts.
Thank you to everyone who has been generous and supportive to my rescue. It's been a good two years. We will have saved around 60 kitten and cats in the last 2 years. Not to shabby.
We still need donations to keep up caring for the kittens and cats that we still have at the rescue. We just had a vet bill for $98 for one of our kittens who had opened her spay incision and it got infected.
We're about $6,000 in the red at this time. My parents and I are paying for the food and litter out of our own pockets. We're covering the cost of the $6,000 debt ourselves.
Even $5 can be very helpful. If you'd like to donate, here's how you can do it.

MOM and KITTENS NEED a FUREVER HOME

A cats cry for help.
Tootsie, was heavily pregnant. She went to a backyard, hoping to find help. She found the right backyard right in time, as she gave birth the next day. The owner provided a cardboard box with lots of blankets for her to continue giving birth. She had four little kittens. The owner reached out to our cat rescue. We've taken her under our wing, even though we have no space. The owner and his family have taken them into his house to foster them for us. Two kittens have already been adopted.

TOOTSIE is 2-3 year old brown/black tabby female cat. She's spayed and vaccinated. She's affectionate, reserved, playful and a bit sassy. She's independent but love affection from her human.

ROXIE is a 4 1/2 month old grey/white tabby female kitten. She's spayed and vaccinated. She's a little shy but playful and curious. She loves pets from her humans.

SKITTLES is a 4 1/2 month old tuxedo male kitten. He's neutered and vaccinated. He's high energy and has a big personality. He loves to explore and get into things. He's very sweet and loves cuddles. He plays hard but when it's naptime he will cuddle with his human.

UPDATE: Cinnamon has found her furever home. Her name is now Lily.

Soon to be famous rescue cat.

Our beloved rescue, Cinnamon, will be on TV this coming Friday August 5th. Not in person just on a segment with pictures.
WBTV between 3-4 pm on New Leash on Life segment.
Precious Kittens Cat Rescue will be mentioned for people to call or email about adoption.
I'm so excited!
Cinnamon is a 11 month old female. She's spayed and UTD on vaccinations.
She loves wand toys and will show off how high she can jump. She's very cuddly and loving. She's so sweet and loves to sleep with you or cuddle while watching TV. All she wants is to be pet all the time. Even tho she's so young, I think she'd be good with an older person who's home most of the day. She's used to other cats but needs time to warm up to a dog.

😻 Monday Quick Facts 😻

Many believe that cats started to develop the meow to communicate with us. Not true.
Kittens mewl to their mother when they want to nurse. Grown-up cats meow to their owners to say, “Wake up and feed me!” Each noise means something different.
So why do cats meow? The simple answer is: to communicate! Whether to other cats or humans.

😻 Monday Quick Facts 😻

Do you know which cat can purr the loudest?
That would be a 13 year old cat rescue named Merlin. He was adopted from an animal rescue center.
He's a gorgeous tuxedo cat from Torquay, Devon UK.
His purr is 67.8db(A) and this is nearly the same volume as a shower! He can also purr up to 100 db!
He won the Guinness World Record for loudest purr.
Most cats purr at around 25db.

😺 Monday Quick Facts 😺

Who is the oldest cat on record and how old were they when they died?

The oldest cat to have ever lived was 38 years and 3 days old when he passed away. Creme Puff, born on August 3, 1967. He lived until August 6, 2005. His owner was Jake Perry who also owned the previous oldest cat record holder, Grandpa Rex Allen, who passed away at the grand age of 34! Whatever Jake Perry’s doing, he’s doing it right!

😺 Monday Quick Facts 😺

When a cat flops over and exposes his or her belly, it’s not always an invitation for a belly rub. A cat does this when he’s relaxed and showing trust.
This has to do with fearing predators. If the cat shows it's belly then they're showing trust in you as a minor dad.
The belly is the most vulnerable part of a cat.

Storytime: Trixie and her babies. Trixie wasn't a stray, she had a irresponsible owner. They never got her fixed and she got out and became pregnant. The owner no longer wanted Trixie, and she was abandoned. My foster, a roommate, took her in to make sure she was cared for.
The birth wasn't easy. She didn't have strong enough contractions. Five babies were born but we could see another baby was still inside. She was rushed to the vet to find out what was happening. She did have another kitten, but it was too large to be born. Trixie went into surgery for a C-section. Unfortunately, the sixth kitten didn't survive, but Trixie did well. She was also spayed, so no more kittens for her.
The five kittens were doing well. They suckled from her after the surgery. The next day Trixie was too sore to feed her babies so my foster immediately started bottle feeding them. Through the night, every 2 hours, my foster cared for the kittens. The next day Trixie felt better and began feeding her five kittens, Patches, Sandy, Callie, Oreo and Midnight.
Then two weeks later a tragedy. Little Midnight began to decline. It was Fading Kitten Syndrome. He passed away in the arms of my foster.
Fading Kitten Syndrome is a mystery. No one understands why a kitten will suddenly decline after doing well. It's untreatable and you never know if a kitten will discontinue to thrive. Generally, it happens between 1 - 4 weeks of age.
The other four babies were looked after very closely. They were weighed twice a day and given supplemental bottle feedings. Thankfully they all continued to thrive and gained weight everyday.
They're a healthy 8 week old kittens now. They're starting the first vaccinations with mom. Then they'll be fixed at 3 months and ready for their furever homes. My foster has adopted Trixie.

Precious Kittens Cat Rescue was happy to be able to help Trixie and her babies. But our donations have decreased over the last two months. The rescue is now in a terrible state, with the possibility of closing down. Then these vulnerable cats and kittens have no one to take them in. We no longer take in any kittens or cats. We can't afford the care they deserve. The kittens and cats presently in our rescue will be provided everything they need. But we're in serious debt and need to bring in a minimum of $2,000 a month in order to open our doors and take in homeless kittens and cats. Every dollar counts. Even donating $5 a month is a huge help. You can do this through PayPal or any of these methods:
