Charlotte Paw Trackers

Charlotte Paw Trackers is dedicated to assisting others in being reunited with their pets without cost.

We're not a registered 501c3 non-profit, but we will never profit. Our services cost nothing and fundraisers are for items to do that with receipts.

When all NC based rescues were unable to help this sweet boy, Virginia German Shepherd Rescue stepped up. Please consider donating, sharing, and giving thanks to the amazing people at Virginia German Shepherd Rescue for going above and beyond for pets along with the health of our society as a whole.

"Two dogs came up to my front door tonight and don't want to leave. East Charlotte near Mint Hill. They've been here for hours now, left briefly and then came right back. Holding them until the morning and then they're going to AC. Four dogs in this house already, so I can't hold them for longer."

Charlotte Paw Trackers will be shutting down all active in person operations. The online groups will stay active to help fill the need of spreading the word of peoples lost and found pets. After more than a decade of service to the Charlotte area, we're proud to have made a difference in our community. I'd like to make a huge thanks to Friends of Feral Felines as nearly two hundred kittens were saved with their assistance through these years. That's 23% of all kittens we actively brought in and we couldn't have managed nearly as much if it weren't for their assistance (especially in our early years of operation).

With that said, we cannot financially sustain our efforts and we've skimmed by for a very long while. And in regards to stress, honestly, I started to burn myself out long ago. The horrors of animal abuse and neglect that we saw is something that will always stay with me... There are also absolutely wonderful people out there that will bring your faith back to humanity as well but, in my current state, I cannot rise with the best of them. As one of the main people of our in person efforts, I need to step down. In the future I'll volunteer with other rescues when I'm able.

I'll be checking with CMPD AC on if they could use the humane traps that were donated to us. If they cannot then I'll be looking to give them to a rescue. If any ideas come to mind, please feel free to make suggestions on new homes for them.

And completely unrelated: Leo the foster German Shepherd puppy still needs a home. Please contact if interested.

Missing cat since 1/12/23. Her name is April and she is an indoor only cat. She is around 10 and very skittish. She is microchipped and also missing a few teeth. Lives off of Thriftwood Dr in Charlotte. Please contact the owner with sightings or a possible find at 828-850-0221 .

It's recommended to not put your pets name on ID tags. Put "CRITICAL! NEEDS DAILY MEDICATION" and then your phone number. Whether or not your pet needs medication doesn't matter. It lowers the chance of animal theft if they don't know the pets name and that it needs continuous medical care.

UPDATE: BACK HOME!!

"Our cat got outside yesterday in the Matthews area and we haven’t been able to find him.
We have fliers posted around the neighborhood. A humane trap that we set up outside of the storm drain near our house (only a stray so far), his litter box outside, along with some articles of clothing that smell like us.
He has a bad paw (front right) that is kind of L shaped from a previous injury so he wobbles when he walks. He also has a blue collar with donuts on it. He’s a larger boy ~13 pounds, about 6 years old, and he is microchipped.
My email is [email protected]
And my number is (803) 640-6732"

Due to the potential for scams, we don't allow for the suggestion or advertisement of for profit services.

We understand that *some* have had good experiences with certain services. Charlotte Paw Trackers is a place for people to share rescues and services out of compassion and not for pay though. We've also heard of horror stories and scams about those sort of paid [tracking] services too.

Comments suggesting such are deleted; Repeated offenders are removed; Malicious responses are reported and then profiles fully banned; And unsolicited messages to people suggesting it (when reported to us) are regarded as a high risk as someone potentially taking advantage of people that are hurting. So if everyone can please abide by this and try to make this a place where we ourselves help one another without expectation of getting something back. Thank you and I'm sorry for the brief PSA. I don't believe anyone here intends anything malicious, but we need to try to take care of one another.

So lets as individuals try our best to keep our eyes out and bring pets back home!

FREE HUMANE TRAPS for borrowing by Charlotte Paw Trackers. If you've lost your pet but have had sightings or know what area they are in, then please contact us directly. We are a FREE NONPROFIT service that wants to bring lost animals home. We do this by providing safe traps to owners, spreading the word about lost/found pets, and by searching county records as a free service.

Lost from Copper Ridge Condominiums of Ballantyne, NC

10/19/2022

Our posting abilities become heavily restricted on a regular basis due to local scammers falsely reporting us as spam. Please share our posts of lost and found animals whenever you can. We're a free service that only works with the help of people like you spreading the word. We lend out humane traps, search County found reports, and spread the word of lost pets without ever asking for a dime. But the best and most effective part of us are the kind souls that help us spread the word about lost pets. We all do this together because this world can and should be a better place. So thank you for being who you are and never let those with malicious intent change that.

10/19/2022

Charlotte Paw Trackers is looking for sponsors/donors that are willing to buy/give humane traps. The traps are lent without cost to those that have lost a pet but have sightings within an area. We currently have small (rabbit sized) and medium (cat sized) traps, but have no large sized traps that could accommodate/catch a dog. Any company that donates a trap will have their company page tagged in a post thanking them for their donation at a minimum rate of 50,000 people seeing the post per trap donated. This will be achieved by us spreading the news of the donation (and our free trap lending) until our insights reflect the numbers promised.
