Since 1993 I have been in the insurance business working with employers, employees and individuals in different capacities to assist them with the cost of health insurance. The COST has become insanely expensive to the point where most employers and individuals say, "What's the point?" On top of the premiums being expensive, the most plans have out of pocket cost that include deductibles over $6000 for an individual and $14,000 for families. The "Fixes" I have seen haven't worked in driving down the cost either, with most of it aimed at legislation / regulation that passes the cost down to the consumer in the way of higher premiums. I now sell hospital gap and accident insurance with Colonial Life to the employee's for inpatient and out patient stays because the financial burden of $6000 or $14,000 dollars of out of pocket expense for the Average American family is a financial train wreck! We need more A La Carte Choices from the networks we use or don't use, drugs, plan design including deductibles and plans with maximums that go from a million to unlimited. We also need to update and expand H.S.A's to match current deductible levels and to be able to use H.S.A. as savings vehicles without having to purchase a specific health insurance plan.

This is not a political post, so please don't burn up my page if this hit's you the wrong way. I am looking to understand from business owners and folks who make these decision what has worked? And what are you doing to combat the high cost of providing health insurance as an employee benefit. So.... The main 2 questions are simple, What has worked? What has not? GO!!!
