Since 1935 Lions Services has been Empowering people who are blind to promote independence.
We are excited to announce our new partnership with Ride Jaunt and BTep, made possible by a grant from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. Over the next 90 days, this partnership will help bridge transportation barriers for Lions Services employees within a 2-mile radius, providing greater inclusivity. Employees can now access transportation for grocery shopping, lunch pickups, running errands, and going bowling after work on Fridays for free! This is a free service to all Lions Services employees! Together, we are fostering, inclusivity, and empowering the community!
Watch the video below with employees having a wonderful time on the Ride Jaunt vehicle.
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, some of our Lions Services employees attended the NASCAR Xfinity Drive for the Cure 250, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, to cheer on Connor Mosack! Racing for JR Motorsports in the #88 car, Connor proudly sported the Lions Services logo on the back panel. It was an exciting day, and we were thrilled to support him as part of our ongoing mission to raise awareness for the blind and visually impaired community. Go, Connor!

Today is White Cane Awareness Day celebrated on October 15! In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson established October 15 as White Cane Safety Day to raise awareness of people who carry a white cane
For people who are blind and visually impaired, the white cane is an essential tool that gives the ability to achieve a full and independent life. It allows individuals to move freely and safely from place to place—whether it's at work, at school, or around their neighborhoods.
This year Lions Services celebrated White Cane Day on Thursday October 10, 2024, at Triple C Brewing Company with the launch of the Tap Tap C Beer featuring the red and white cane and braille on the can. The beer is available the entire month of October at Triple C Brewing Company. Photos of the event coming soon!

With over 200 participants, the event was a wonderful opportunity to build fellowship, raise awareness for Blindness Awareness Month, and generate essential funds to support our community. Together, we raised $25,000, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, donations, fundraising efforts, and registrations for the walk.
