I spent a one hour and 45 minutes with a new guest for her first haircut in the studio. Half of that time we just chatting about what her goals and lifestyle. I found it’s very essential to get to know my guest ,understanding their needs and help them to achieve them goals. A lot of times I believe hairdressing is not just to get the job done, also establish a relationship with the guest.
It is very satisfying and rewarding to see their smile. This very principal have helped me tremendously to do well in the beauty industry.
So , to my fellow Beauty stylist who is currently struggle in the beauty industry, please don’t give up, grab a tea or coffee , sit down , turn off the music ( Lol, for me )and really think about why you start your journey years ago as a stylist, really reflect on yourself on how often do you really listen to your customer ? When is the last time you went to a career/ business training class?
These are very important factors to boost a stylist to another level. Working smart not hard ( this is not entirely true, we do work our butt off a lot of times) , but my question is how do you get rewarded by working your butt off, instead, not get paid enough for all the hard work you devoted?
