Cardea was founded almost a decade ago by the trailblazing first lady of defense, Linda Parker Hudson, who was instrumental in setting the company up for long-term success. Our team was honored to serve on the leadership cabinet and attend Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina’s annual Wish Ball this past weekend to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses and conditions in our community. This year was an incredible success with $1,762,000 raised to grant wishes for 235 children in need.

We launched a summer reading program with our team this summer including several thought-provoking books to challenge the norms of our workstyles and accelerate our success. The first book on our list was Shoe Dog, a memoir by Phil Knight, creator of Nike. In discussing Knight’s journey to creating one of the most well-known brands today, our team was inspired by his perseverance and resilience as he faced continuous, simultaneous business and personal challenges. We discussed the tenets of Nike’s success and how it pertains to our mission to elevate leaders and amplify their impact on the world.

Shoe Dog is a great read, and we look forward to sharing many more exciting reads with you over the next several months!

We are proud to welcome Jason Dunkle to our team as our logistics and project manager. Prior to joining our team, Jason served for eight years in the United States Marine Corps specializing in logistics and project management. During his career with the Marines, Jason served in various parts of Asia and Africa where he leveraged his networks and developed organizational skills to adapt through a myriad of leadership challenges. Jason completed an associate degree from the American Military University in Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management and continues to work towards his bachelor’s.

We greatly value Jason’s experience and are honored to have him on our team to assist in managing our processes and procedures as we continue to grow and enhance the outcomes of the services we provide our clients.

Three Cardea interns gathered this week in celebration of the start of our summer internship program. Jacob McManus and Chidera Udeh, interns from the previous two years, joined our 2022 marketing and communications intern Shrestha Sinha, to share experiences and collaborate on the future of the Cardea Internship Program.

We strive to accelerate the success of our interns by preparing them with the necessary skills and experiences to lead in their careers and undoubtedly make an impact.

We are very excited to spotlight our 2022 marketing and communications intern Shrestha Sinha! Shrestha is an international student, born in Kolkata, India and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She received her bachelor’s in Communication Studies, with a focus on Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Charlotte) and is currently pursuing her master’s in Communication Studies from Charlotte as well.

Prior to joining our team, Shrestha worked as an intern in Dubai and India. In her previous internships, she was responsible for drafting thought-provoking content, website design and conducting research on various important and timely topics. During the academic year, she works with her professor on social media activism. Additionally, she served as a member of the executive board for Charlotte’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter during her junior and senior year, and in her first year of her graduate program, she served as the social chair for the Communications Studies Graduate Students Association.

More than 10 years ago, Linda Parker Hudson joined her first corporate board. She now serves on the boards of Bank of America, Trane Technologies and TPI Composites, Inc.
