Sardis Presbyterian Church is an inclusive congregation called to equip disciples of Jesus Christ to impact the world by:
*Praising God our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer
*Learning about God's will for our lives
*Loving one another unconditionally
*Serving neighbors near and far
*Sharing the gifts with which we have been blessed
*Witnessing to the Good News of Jesus Christ to provide hope for the world
Many years ago, during a similar trip to the US, an event was held called "Breaking Bread." This gathering was a potluck supper where friends of Bayonnais joined together for food and fellowship. After many years, it has become a tradition to bring together our community, to share the love and support of OFCB!
Join us at 6pm on Thursday, October 17th at SouthPark Church for this year's Breaking Bread event with Actionnel & Yolande Fleurisma! We will provide the main dish (Yolande's Beans & Rice, a Haitian favorite!) and beverages. We hope you'll sign up to bring something to share - a dessert, side, salad, or bread!

On the anniversary of September 11th, we “weep with” those who continue to grieve the tragic events of this day in 2001 (Romans 12:15), and we give thanks for those who risked or gave their lives to rescue others 23 years ago. Lord, hear our prayer.

Thank you to RP3 Strategies, Bob Johnson, Jimmie Kirkpatrick, De Kirkpatrick, and our church partners Myers Park Presbyterian Church, The Park Church, and Providence Presbyterian Church for bringing "A Binding Truth" and thought-provoking and powerful community conversation to Sardis. Thank you to the over 140 attendees for your participation.
We are looking forward to the follow-up in-depth community dialogue using the patented Learning From The Future process, facilitated by RP3 Strategies, and featuring Ministers Ricky and Julia Moore of Moore Grace Ministries to explore the history of the Church and slavery, with a focus on slave cemeteries and the impact it has on us today.
Our 3rd graders were presented with their Bibles during worship yesterday. We are so blessed to have them exploring their faith at Sardis and are praying over their journey.

Day 2 of Preschool Compassion Camp! We are having a wonderful week with our youngest disciples! Today, Ms. Vicky had a special gift for us...as we looked inside her gift box we could see God's most precious creation...ourselves! We learned to not only have compassion for others, but compassion for ourselves!
We welcomed over 40 preschool children to Compassion Camp today! We are so excited to spend the week with them exploring faith through music, movement, and art!
As we celebrate the first day of school, we want to give a big thank you to everyone who contributed items to our annual Pool for School Tools drive for Rama Road Elementary School. Thanks to your generosity, the Rama teachers and students could hit the ground running all set for a fantastic year!
Thank you Sardis for your continued support and partnership with our neighbors down the road.

Sardis member Ed Shoaf spotted this fawn on the South Lawn today. We love seeing the wildlife at Sardis! Did you know? Our Earth Care team has discovered that the National Wildlife Federation encourages everyone to support wildlife right in their own yard. If you are interested in gardening for wildlife, please visit: www.nwf.org/Garden-for-Wildlife/Create/At-Home
Using their clear, easy suggestions, your yard can become a certified wildlife habitat. Celebrate with a yard sign from the National Wildlife Federation and encourage your neighbors to join in!
