Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville
Our vision is a Greater Charlottesville community where everyone can find a decent place to live.
To achieve this, we bring people together to build and rebuild homes and communities while catalyzing new pathways to safe, decent, affordable housing.
Thank you Wells Fargo for helping to build affordable homes with us in Southwood Cville!
Honored that you all chose to spend some time giving back with us out at Southwood Cville! Thank you!

In case you missed it, our President and CEO Dan Rosensweig had a great conversation with Michael Guthrie on Real Estate Matters w Michael Guthrie, which aired this past Saturday. It's a great recent update on our work --including the pending purchase of the Carlton Mobile Home Park, with an eye toward the progress we've made in mixed-income communities to date. Give it a listen!
Dan Rosensweig from Habitat for Humanity | REM - Cville Right Now Dan Rosensweig from Habitat for Humanity joined Michael to share about the recent purchase of the Carlton mobile home park. He discussed how it all came to be in a short period of time and what folks can do to help this project and community as it moves forward. https://share.transistor.fm/s/bc2456f...
On Wednesday, Habitat and Piedmont Housing Alliance gathered with the residents of the Carlton Mobile Home Park community to talk about what comes next. It was largely about listening, and hearing from the residents on what they want the way forward to look like. In this brief video, PHA's Alicia Garcia and Habitat's Dan Rosensweig provide a brief overview.
On Tuesday, we learned that our offer to purchase the Carlton Mobile Home Park on behalf of its residents was accepted. We along with our partners at Piedmont Housing Alliance, Legal Aid Justice Center and the City of Charlottesville, Va - Government are thrilled and relieved to know that the Bolton family has accepted the offer we put before them on behalf of the residents who live in the community. We are grateful that the Bolton family has accepted our offer, and we are humbled to know that the residents of the Carlton community were willing to take this leap of faith with us. We look forward to working closely with the residents in the months and years to come.
In case you missed it, check out this past Friday's community conversation with WVIR NBC29's Erin Brown where we had a chance to catch up on recent events.

Waiting lists for Albemarle County's Tenant-Based, Treesdale 2-Bedroom, Treesdale 3-Bedroom, Crozet Meadows, The Crossings at Fourth & Preston, and Scottsville Schools voucher programs are now open until Monday, May 13, 2024, at 4 pm.
These programs provide monthly rental subsidies to help families seek and obtain safe and affordable housing. Due to the high demand for vouchers, the Albemarle County Department of Human Service's Office of Housing uses a lottery-based waiting list system.
