We are thrilled to partner with On Our Own of Charlottesville to offer fresh foods (dairy, eggs, meat, fruits and veggies) as well as non-perishable staples to the On Our Own community.

Did you know the EFN is run almost entirely by volunteers?
Our 19 hands-on, hard-working Board members provide our leadership and direction, while our 100+ trained volunteers capably handle every aspect of our daily operations, such as shelving groceries, packing food bags, answering phones and taking orders, and distributing food to clients. We are grateful for these hard-working individuals who give so generously of their time and talents, and allow us to operate so efficiently.

The 53rd Annual Charlottesville main CROP WALK has now occurred. Our main event had participation from Westminster & Meadows Presbyterian, Cherry Avenue Christian Church, Meals on Wheels, and Charlottesville Church of the Brethren. In addition, Team WALKs are being conducted by Keswick Churches (South Plains Presbyterian, Grace Episcopal, & Union Grove Baptist), Team Townsend, and UKirk at UVa. The photos are from this year’s main WALK.

Last year, our CROP WALKs raised $31,452 for local and international hunger relief. These funds are used by Church World Service (CWS) and partner agencies in more than 35 countries. 25% of the funds have been used locally by the Emergency Food Network and Meals on Wheels.

We are grateful for our partnership with Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Inc.! Since 2020, Monica Davis at Loaves & Fishes has been sharing their surplus produce, allowing EFN to offer more fresh fruits and vegetables to our clients. Last year Loaves & Fishes provided 8,277 pounds of produce for us to distribute! Thank you, Monica and Loaves & Fishes, for caring and sharing your bounty with us!

EFN adds another day to hours of operation The Emergency Food Network announced on Friday that is will now be open on Saturdays to help people in the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area.

Emergency Food Network now open on Saturdays For the first time in more than 50 years Emergency Food Network is now open on Saturdays.

Come see us Saturday! Good news for folks who can't get to us on a weekday: we now have Saturday hours! Everything else is the same - you would still call us at 434-979-9180 between 9am and noon to order food, and pick up at 900 Harris Street between 1:30 and 3:30pm. Serving residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle, with no financial questions asked.

New Saturday Hours! EFN is now open 4 days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. We are so grateful to our volunteers and supporters who made it possible to expand our hours to better serve our community!

A big Thank You to the UVA Food Collaborative for this new upright freezer! Our expanded freezer space comes just in time for our expanded distribution hours: starting August 3 we will add Saturdays to our distribution schedule, in addition to our regular Monday/Wednesday/Friday hours. We are so grateful for the community support that makes this possible.❤🙏
