POP UP Anniversary beer release! We are feelin’ lots of LOVE from all our loyal patrons and wanted to create something special to show you LOVE! This special release is to commemorate our 4 Year Anniversary which is June 15th. Since we have 15 gallons of this gem, we figured it could go on tap a little early.

Brewer’s notes: ‘ONE LOVE’ Lemon Lavender Belgian Wit…The traditional 4 year anniversary gift is fruit and flowers, so lavender + lemon sounded like a nice summer treat. We brewed this small batch using flaked wheat + other high-quality malt, coriander seed, and orange peel. Then we added high quality lemon juice and a lavender flower tincture. This is an amazingly balanced, refreshing, must try beer. Get it while you can! 6.4% ABV / 14 IBU

Don’t forget - next Saturday June 15th is our 4 Years of BEER / Farewell FOR NOW Party. Come celebrate with us – YOU are why we are here. ‘HARVEST MOON’ Kentucky Common is back on tap! If you came to see us at the Chattanooga Beer Fest on May 25th, this is one of the beers we were serving – and it went fast!

Brewer’s Notes: This is one of very few beer styles that originated in America, produced during the 1800’s in Kentucky up until prohibition. We created this small batch true to the historic style, using lager yeast and fermenting at ale temperatures. This creates the smoothness of a lager with the body and flavor of an ale. Brewed with traditional 6 and 2 row barley in conjunction with flaked corn + biscuit malt to add a nice touch of sweetness.
5.4% ABV / 22 IBU

Our ‘NOUVEAU JOUR’ Belgian Saison is back on tap…Call us old school, but we love our classic + historic beer styles, and this is one of our favorites. The Belgian Saison is a style steeped in history, dating back to the 17th century. Saison means ‘season’ in French and was originally created to quench the thirst of farmers during the summer months. They were often created using ingredients grown from their own farms.

We brewed ours true to the traditional style. The result is deliciously smooth with a soft malt character and light spice + fruit notes from the Belgian yeast. 6.4% ABV / 19 IBU

+ COMING SOON:

- Habanero Saison…We took the classic and then added our own in house made tincture using real Habanero peppers. The full-bodied backbone style and yeast even out the spice level nicely.

- Rosemary Saison …We added a tincture made from fresh cut Rosemary, which creates unique, tasty herbaceous notes.

Today we are spotlighting 3 IPAs, now on the Tanasi Brewing taps:

- ‘Hazy Ridge’ IPA…This small batch Hazy was brewed with 2-Row, barley, flaked oats, and other high-quality malt. Then we used Huell Melon, Amarillo and Citra hops which add loads of bright, delicious star fruit, cantaloupe, and citrus notes. It’s a perfect, clean smooth drinker. 6.7% ABV / 60 IBU

- ‘Blackfoot’ Black IPA…This is a beautifully balanced pint with coffee + chocolate notes, a light caramel malty sweetness along with the smooth hoppiness of a classic IPA. Hopped with Warrior, Citra, Cascade and Hallertau Magnum. It also won a Bronze Medal in the 2023 Tennessee Championship of Beers competition! 6.4% ABV / 67 IBU

- ‘Two Wolves’ American IPA…We brewed a classic American IPA using Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, and Amarillo hops. It has a delicious hint of malty sweetness, a bit of a zesty citrus bite and light spice / pine notes. 6.4% ABV / 70 IBU

Today is another emotional day here at Tanasi Brewing and Supplies. It is the last brew being done in our vintage 1960’s era gas station turned Brewery / Homebrew Supply Shop. This is batch # 271 for Tanasi, and around # 870 lifetime.

Save the date for Saturday, June 15th which will be our 4th Anniversary / Farewell for Now / Kick the Keg Party – but most of all, it’s our chance to say thank you in person for an amazing 4 years. The traditional four year anniversary gift is fruit and flowers, so we are brewing a special release lavender lemon Belgian Wit that will debut sometime in June.

The support we have received from the community, friends, and family has been amazing! We appreciate it more than you can imagine. It is incredible to have so many people believe in us.

But it’s sad to have all of the hard work, time and money that we have put into this place be taken away and most likely have an apartment building sitting here in a year. Unfortunately, so many other local small businesses have been in the same situation in recent years.

We are aggressively looking for a new place to live, but the commercial market is out of control. But we are staying positive and will NOT give up!

to 2011, when a BEERCATION changed things forever…We traveled to Belgium to see first-hand where some of our favorite beers were made. It was mind blowing – hundreds of years of brewing traditions, making some of the best beer on earth.

We attended a brewery tour at Brouwerij De Halve Maan in Bruges, where Mary gave us an extremely informative and educational tour of the entire brewing process. (Did you know that 1 pint of Belgian beer has the same nutritional content as a turkey sandwich!?) We were hooked.

Once home, the homebrewing obsession began for our Owner / Brewer, Clint - and 3 years later he was professionally brewing. He went on to learn from some amazing mentors, won a few medals, and earned his Cicerone Certfified Beer Server Certification. Here we are today, where the dream of owning a brewery has become a reality.

Brewer’s notes: ‘BELFORT’ Belgian Golden Strong Ale…Named after the beautiful Belfort Tower in Bruges, Belgium. Built in the 13th century, the tower has 366 stairs leading to an amazing view of this special medieval city. This is a higher ABV style, but it’s an extremely smooth, flavorful, must try pint. You’ll get delicious notes of fruit, with light spice notes and a soft malt character. 8.2% ABV / 23 IBU

‘BANANA HANDS’ is back! We brewed this small batch of Hefeweizen true to the Bavarian classic, using a recipe of German malt and Tradition hops. ‘Hefe’ is a German term for yeast and ‘Weizen’ means wheat. This style has a heavy amount of wheat and unfiltered yeast. The result is refreshingly crisp, with a fluffy mouthfeel + deliciously balanced notes of banana and clove. 5.9% ABV / 10 IBU

It is with a heavy heart and a great deal of sadness that we announce that our landlord has decided not to renew our lease and we have to move. We are being allowed to stay an extra month to the end of June, so we can have our 4th anniversary party on June 15th, but that will be our last day of operation until we move into our new space.

Everyone talks about how Chattanooga is growing so rapidly which is great, but I guess this is the price of that growth. Small business owners are losing their life dreams and years of hard work.

It has been a dream of mine for over 10 years to own my own brewery and for the last few years we have been able to live that dream because of all of you! It is the best job I have ever had in my life! We are more thankful to every one of you that has visited us more than you know! We have met so many amazing people that we now call family and friends, and truly hope that you follow us to our new spot. We are currently looking for a new home, which is a bit of a challenge in this market - but we will NEVER give up on this dream!

We hope to see everyone between now and our last day to celebrate friendship and great brews! We have a lot of beer and home brew supplies that I would like to dwindle down before we go. Kegs are heavy! Lol

P.S.~ If anyone has boxes and/or newspaper, I can use it.
