BEHIND THE EXCELLENCE: CHFD RESCUE COMPANY OPERATIONS
Cherry Hill Fire Department Rescue Company 13 members face a wide array of challenges - from acting as a ladder company at fire scenes to responding to technical and urban search and rescue assignments across the region. Rescue Company 13 is a busy place whose members are tasked with an increased level of responsibilities while facing emergencies throughout Cherry Hill, Camden County, and beyond.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado WATCH until 2PM today.
A WATCH means that conditions are conducive for the development of tornadic thunderstorms. It does NOT mean you specifically will see one.
If a WARNING is issued, it means rotation has been indicated on radar or a trained weather spotter has seen one.
We will monitor the local weather reports throughout the day. During a tornado watch, it's important to stay vigilant and prepared. Here's some advice:
1. Stay Informed: Keep an eye on local news, weather apps and our social media pages.
2. Know Your Safe Shelter: Identify a safe place in your home or building, ideally a basement - lowest floor, away from windows.
3. Emergency Kit: Have an emergency kit ready with essentials like water, non-perishable food, charged cell phone, medications, a flashlight, batteries and a first aid kit.
4. Secure Outdoor Items: High winds - If possible, bring in or secure outdoor items like patio furniture & grills.
5. Plan for Pets: Make sure your pets are indoors.
6. Avoid Unnecessary Travel.
A swath of very heavy rain mainly east of the path of , will follow the system as it tracks north over the next few days.
There will be flooding. More than 50% of all flood fatalities are vehicle-related. You never know how deep the water is or if the road has been washed away or compromised beneath the water. Don’t risk driving into floodwaters. Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
Tropical Storm Debby - More Rain is On the Way☔️
The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Debby. Although it is currently tracking west of New Jersey, heavy rain and gusty winds are in the forecast for the next few days. This could cause localized flooding in urban locations, places with poor drainage, low lying areas, roadways, and waterways.
Here are a few tips to keep you safe!
🚫Avoid any roads that appear flooded. Water may be deeper than you think. TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!
⚠️Wet weather can make for slick roadways! Remember to SLOW DOWN!
🚧Closely obey traffic warnings and traffic barriers. They are there for your safety!
⚡Avoid any downed or submerged power lines. Always assume they are LIVE!
🔦Report power outages to your utility company.
