Jewish Federations of North America announced the completion of a two-year, $9 million Ethiopian campaign, which transformed the lives of 3,170 Ethiopian olim (immigrants to Israel) and provided essential food and medicine to thousands of people in Gondar and Addis Ababa.
The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (JFSNJ) is proud to have assisted with this campaign by allocating dollars from its Global Connections Area of Impact directly to this effort. This allocation is in addition to JFSNJ’s annual allocation to JAFI.

For more than 100 years, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey has been there for the Jewish community locally and abroad to support those in need. It’s because of this consistent reliability that we were able to answer the call on October 7, helping victims of terror in Israel and raising funds for the country in its time of need.
Thanks to generous donors like you to our JFund Annual Campaign, we develop, maintain, and expand upon vital programs and services across our five Areas of Impact–Older Adults, Special Needs, Global Connections, Community Engagement, and Family & Youth–within our family of agencies.

From the food they tried, to the meaningful initiatives they explored, JFSNJ staff members Adam and Stacey share more insight into the impactful mission they went on to Israel.
On their journey, Adam and Stacey visited parts of Israel including Jerusalem, Yafo, the Negev, and beyond with a team of educators across America to learn how they could best bring back their findings to their communities and classrooms.
Thank you, Adam and Stacey, for sharing your impactful experiences with us and our community.

Check out this sneak peek from our newest video highlighting one of our recent projects.
JFSNJ collaborated with Project 24, an Israeli grassroots organization, to sponsor a trip for ten children and their guardians to come to our South Jersey community.
The families live on Kibbutz Zikim and were forced to evacuate on October 7th. Even now that they are able to return to their Kibbutz, everyday life is not the same.
This project enabled these children to come to JCC Camps At Medford and experience the magic of summer camp.
To help us continue with these types of projects, please consider donating to our Israel Emergency Campaign here: https://bit.ly/3YxO518

Jewish Federations of North America are horrified at Hezbollah’s senseless murder of children in a terrorist attack in Majdal Shams. There is never an excuse for killing children in a soccer field.
We mourn with Israel and the Druze community for those who have lost their lives and pray for the recovery of the wounded.

It’s been a week since JFSNJ staff members, Adam and Stacey, got back and we’re learning so much about their incredible experience in Israel on the Jewish National Funds’ Educators’ Mission.
Swipe to see some more amazing activities they took part in during the last few days of their trip.
Photos 1&2: The group participated in a memorial to fallen soldiers recognizing the yahrzeit of those who died fighting for Israel.
Photo 3: Participants spent time at ADI Israel, a facility committed to helping individuals living with and touched by disabilities.
Photo 4: Participants visited the KKL-JNF’s American Independence Park where they saw the B’nai Mitzvah Remembrance Wall.
Photos 5&6: Participants visited Kidnapped Square (Tel Aviv Museum) where they saw several memorials for the atrocities of October 7 and for the safe return of hostages.
The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, through its Global Connection Area of Impact, allocated funds to OneFamily Together, whose mission is to champion the rights and needs of Israel’s victims of terror and to ensure their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Yesterday, JFSNJ staff members had the opportunity to attend a Lunch & Learn with Shira Taylor Gura to learn about her unSTUCK Method, used for emotional regulation both at work and at home.
Shira grew up in our South Jersey Jewish community and now lives in Israel on Kibbutz Hannaton. Another interesting connection with our South Jersey community – Hannaton’s Educational Center, a Jewish study center rooted in community and guided by pluralism in Jewish thought, receives a special allocation from our Global Connections Area of Impact.
Thank you for joining us today, Shira, and for sharing your words of wisdom with our staff members.
Final call to register and hear from Dr. Anna Goldenberg-Sandau and Dr. John Chovanes about the Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET) course we helped bring to Israel and learn about Israel's trauma surgery training needs.

Yesterday we said a bittersweet farewell to the Israeli families and their children from Kibbutz Zikim. They spent the last 10 days here with our South Jersey community while their kids enjoyed time at our JCC Camps At Medford.
Thank you to everyone who made them feel welcome, took them into their homes, and made their time in South Jersey special. We miss them already and know we will stay in touch with our new forever friends.💙🇮🇱
Jewish Federations of North America are appalled, but not surprised, at today’s ridiculous verdict against Evan Gershkovich after a sham secret trial held behind closed doors in Russia. Evan has been wrongfully detained for over a year, and we are outraged by Russia continuing his imprisonment under false espionage pretenses.
