ECZEMA TESTIMONY

Many people have requested my testimony - I hope it is helpful for anyone suffering from eczema. At the tender age of 44 I developed eczema. My skin broke out from head to toe. The itching was horrendous, especially at night. I would wake up in the morning with raw areas and blood on the sheets.

My first visit to a dermatologist confirmed I had eczema and he provided a script for pills. I was in his office for less than 5 minutes. I began taking the pills, but didn’t notice any improvement and felt it made the eczema worse. I then went to a different dermatologist. She confirmed the same and gave me steroid cream that had the consistency of axle grease. She said to keep the affected areas moist until they healed. Well, that didn’t stop the itching and didn’t promote any healing. Neither doctor addressed possible causes or long-term solutions. Neither gave any hope for overcoming the symptoms and said the best to hope for was to “manage them”. Yeh, right!

I took it upon myself to investigate possible underlying causes of eczema to see what could be done. I recommend if you want to get to the cause and address it along with treating the symptoms, do some homework. I discovered eczema can be caused by allergic reactions, chemicals, laundry detergents, soaps, personal care products, nutritional deficiencies, stress, chronic tension, or Candida.

I understand a great deal more how nutrition and good supplementation play a huge role in the health of the skin. I began eliminating foods that were indicated as possible causes such as eggs, wheat, dairy, sugar, peanuts, and fried foods. These can be added back later if not allergic to them. One theme that continued to play over and over was about the body’s conversion of essential fatty acids (EFA). Someone can have a deficiency in their diet or their body is not able to adequately convert what little there may be from their diet.

Remove all chemicals from your home. This may sound strange to someone unfamiliar with Shaklee so let me explain. Many everyday cleaners people use contain harmful chemicals that can irritate the skin. Over 150 chemicals found in the average home have been linked to allergies and skin disorders. I recommend switching to Shaklee's safe and non-toxic Get Clean cleaners to eliminate chemicals in the home.

To eliminate the chemicals I came in contact with, I changed brands to Shaklee’s Get Clean laundry products which are free of dyes and chemicals. I recommend using Shaklee’s Fresh Laundry, Nature Bright, and Soft Fabric Softener, and only those products for the laundry. Detergents leave a residue in the washer and on fabrics which can irritate the skin. Be sure to wash everything that might come in contact with the skin. For example, bed sheets and pillow cases, towels, clothes, etc.

Avoid lotions and creams with Lanolin. I use Shaklee Enfuselle Hand & Body Lotion and Moisturizing Shower Gel to avoid drying and irritating my skin.

I implemented the following nutritional program as recommended by health care professionals familiar with Shaklee:

Shaklee Life Shake – 1 serving/day (to help with developing new skin)

Shaklee Vita Lea - 1 serving/day

OmegaGuard (Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids) – 6 per day until skin is healed then reduce to 3 per day

GLA Complex (Gamma Linolenic Acid – Omega 6 EFA) – 3 per day (I stopped after my skin healed)

Zinc – 1 or 2 per day (aids healing and enhances the immune system)

Alfalfa tablets - a natural antihistamine, which is what doctors prescribe when someone has a rash. Taking 10 to 15 tablets per day took the itch away! Can be made into a tea.

Vitamin-C – 3 per day (vitamin C helps build collagen)

Optiflora – (Probiotics) for a healthy immune system and digestion.

NOTE: Reduce and/or substitute products for children (i.e. Incredivites or Ocean Wonders instead of Vita Lea)

After a few days, the itching subsided and healing began. It was such a relief in many ways. Everyone is different so some experimentation may be necessary to see which combination works. I’ve talked with people with eczema and all concur, at the very least, use Vita Lea, OmegaGuard, GLA Complex, and Optiflora.

After 24 years, I remain symptom free and continue my Shaklee regimen. I hope this helps someone you know who might be suffering from eczema. I only recommend Shaklee products because of the results I and many others have received and they are a company I trust. My full recovery brought a new understanding and empathy for those with eczema. Anyone needing assistance or further product information let me know. Feel free to share my story with others.

We’re closing in on 4 inches of rain today in Minnesota so a good day to stay-at-home. I have been delighted by a pair of Scarlett Tanagers and Baltimore Orioles that showed up this weekend at my birdfeeders. A 7-STEP PROCESS
Invest 10 to 20 hours a week doing these 7 steps

Dreams & Goals – What is your number one reason WHY you want to build a Shaklee business? Write it down. What rank do you want to reach? Set a target date. Now, together with your upline, establish your action plan.

Commitment – Success in Shaklee requires commitment & effort. How many hours each week will you set aside for your business? One of the first things to do is convert your household to Shaklee products.

List – Shaklee grows when we multiply our efforts by introducing people to the products & the opportunity. The best way to know who you can talk to next is to have a prospect list – this is a list of names of people you know (don’t pre-judge who will/won’t be interested – people can surprise you).

Contact & Invite – Find a comfortable way to contact people – it can be as simple as, “I have an idea I’d like to talk to you about, could we get together this week?” Contact 3 to 5 people from your prospect list to set appointments.

Present – We always told new builders, “You prospect, we present” - in other words, your new builder would set appointments with people from their prospect list – you would meet together with the prospect where you would present the opportunity – your new builder would watch what you do. After 3 to 4 appointments, it’s time for your new builder to step out on their own and make the presentations themselves. By the time they start to make presentations, they already will have a foundation of members and distributors under them.

Sponsor – New members and business builders are the key to growth. Make appointments to present the business opportunity – a good target would be to identify 3 to 4 people who seriously are interested in building a business. Once you have identified the first builder you will want to help them to start building a group around them.

Teach – Shaklee is a show & tell business where you are learning by doing. Most often, your upline will present the opportunity to your first 3 to 4 prospects; you will invite people to your upline’s meetings and to product demos. Your job is to watch what your upline does a – then you start to present and conduct small meetings yourself. While you were watching and learning, your business was starting to grow through those initial efforts of your upline. Now, you follow the same process with the people you sponsor who have a desire to build a business.

Patients suffering from serious cases of coronavirus are being treated with vitamin C at some New York hospitals, according to the New York Post

The critical nutrient is being administered in massive doses to severely ill patients, along with a combination of other medicines, including hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, both of which have received increased attention recently.

“Dr. Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist and critical-care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities on Long Island, said his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C,” the Post reports.

The patients receive identical doses three or four more times per day, Dr. Weber explained.

“The patients who received vitamin C did significantly better than those who did not get vitamin C,” Weber said.

“It helps a tremendous amount, but it is not highlighted because it’s not a sexy drug.”

He explained that coronavirus patients experience a significant drop in vitamin C levels if their bodies “overreact to the infection,” triggering a life-threatening condition called sepsis.

“It makes all the sense in the world to try and maintain this level of vitamin C,” Weber said.

Vitamin C is being “widely used” to treat coronavirus patients throughout the Northwell Health system, a spokesman told the Post.

Doctors in China began treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C in February and reported positive results.
