That event. That day. The finale of the remodel (close enough at least). I was so happy. Possibly too happy. Anywho🤪…..I’m thankful for the whole day and every person involved! But whew so glad it’s over. Let’s get back to some gorgeous hair now!!!!

Hi! It’s me, the girl behind the posts. It’s true that I recently stepped back from doing hair. While hair is my passion so is making my salon home successful. At this time I am being pulled in this direction and it just feels right.
You’ll still see me, at times, working behind the chair. I am still working on family and friends and will always keep up my skills and working on new trends. Lately doing extension work has lit a new fire in me. I have taken on a few extension clients to hone my craft and step out of my box. I have decided to welcome more extension clients to my chair. I have worked so hard for 25 years in this beautiful industry and felt a push in a different direction and I am loving it!!

When choosing an extension artist you should be able to see their work…ALL of it. Which means their sectioning too! The finished product can ‘hide’ discrepancies.

Another ‘Fill’ and KTips for the WIN, again ✨ Two parts to this installation. #1. She came into the salon for a color consultation where the stylist (based off of their consultation) recommended that she use extensions for her color choice. Her hair is slightly compromised and already on the finer side. Her goal is to grow it longer and keep it healthy. She actually had two tapes installed on each side for added fullness already.
#2. She actually didn’t like having tape in extensions.
She was then introduced to me to do a consultation for extensions and if they’d be a better choice for her color change and her hair type.

We decided on Ktips. Soooo many reasons they were a great fit for her.
1. Low maintenance. With proper installation and home care they do NOT need any maintenance appointments until they are ready to be removed. Removal is usually after about 4/5 months.
2. 360 degree movement. She wears her hair up and down. KTips offer a full range of movement which no other extension application does.
3. I had cut the bonds down to mimic the density of her current hair for a perfect blend while still being able to fill in sparse areas.
4. With proper installation they are virtually impossible to feel.
5. We chose the color she wanted to add for contrast. Her goal is to grow out her very dark color gradually and in a healthy manor. This color will help that blend. She decided to add a few bonds in back to give more dimension to her color through there as well.

Ktips are my favorite method for SO many reasons. That being said it is NOT the only method I do. There is a person for each method and I will always recommend the best option for your specific goal.

This babe originally wanted to fill in her sides. She felt they just did not grow…ever. Her hair is fine and fragile. Her stylist made the right decision to go with K-Tips. Her hair wouldn’t be able to handle a sewn in weft!
I was not supposed to be doing the install. My coworker had an accident on the way into work-she is OK!!- but shook up so I stayed to do the installation on her client. Team work really does make the dream happen!

Her stylist matched her color 100% 🎉
When she saw the extra length from adding density to her sides we made the split decision to add length all over.

It was a great choice! She loved it 🤩

Bottom line is….extensions do not have to be for super long, super thick results. We maintained her current density and added length and fullness through her sides that she felt didn’t grow.

Can you tell she has extensions? She does. This beautiful guest had just a small area that she didn’t like about her hair. Just one area that made her not love her hair. I decided one pack of K-tips would be perfect for her specific need. Flash forward…she’s in love with her hair and can’t live without her K-tips!

Extensions have been a game changer for me personally. I never loved my own hair. It’s thinner then I’d like, never grew as long as I wanted, didn’t hold a curl for very long. Then I got sewn in extensions, GAME CHANGER!

My hair is something I am proud of now. It’s long and thicker and holds a curl for days. Finally!

I know you want that long hair to keep growing. But ladies, you need to get it cut!
Regular trims will keep your ends from splitting and looking thin. Usually I tell my long haired clients (or those who are growing out their hair) to come in every 10-12 weeks for a trim. That way I can keep an eye on your hair health and make recommendations based off what I am seeing. That could look like a conditioning treatment or at home hair care to keep it growing long and strong!

Did you know? Short haircuts are my favorite cuts to do. Pixies, asymmetrical…I love how they accentuate the bone structure, show off a great neckline. Ironically the lack of hair can be the most important feature you wear.

Lightening this red to blonde is a process and I DO NOT slap some heavy s**t on hair and pray that it doesn’t break off. I chose foilyage for this natural hand painted ‘look’. Leaving out her root area for a seamless grow out. She actually chose a slightly darker less red for her root area and I love the dimension it gave her hair. Second session we will get her lighter and add more blonde. Having/keeping your hair healthy is the goal 💯 %!

She’s been a heavy blonde highlight for so long! Grew out her color for quite a while and decided she wanted the lightness brought back up but wanted a lower maintenance color this time. I foilyage’d her lighter pieces to blend with her grown out color, leaving her natural root color so it’s less maintenance for her now. She loves the brightness of her ends but definitely didn’t want to go back to a traditional heavy highlight. It’s blended and beautiful now with softness she can grow out however long she chooses.

The burn out phase! 😩And it can affect people in different ways. It’s never been easy for me to step back and pay attention to how I feel, like really feel…what my body is telling me, what my unconscious thoughts are trying to scream to me. I’ve always been a hustler. I’ve always put others first. I’ve always sucked it up because that’s what hard work is. Right?!

I’m slowly realizing that the stress I’ve always just dealt with isn’t how you’re ‘supposed’ to live. You’re supposed to enjoy this life…I’ve been told 🤣

Being a business owner isn’t for the weak, faint of heart or lazy person. But to also add in being a stylist behind the chair still, social media planner, education director, leader, accountant, payroll company, inventory manager, errand runner, running meetings…

While also being an adult, currently home remodeling, trying to see family and friends and momma of three hyper big dogs. It can be A LOT!

I think burn out was inevitable. So hello old friend, we meet again.

I know what I have to. I have delegated certain aspects of my business to people who excel in what they do. I will be making changes to my business and personal life to get my energy back, calm the storm and actually have time to focus on what matters to me.
Sometimes we need the burn out. Or maybe we don’t but that’s how I’ve lived my life🫠🥴
It’s a start to a new beginning! One I am sooo looking forward to 💕

$35,000!!! That is the amount I spent over the last year investing in my business and myself. I took the leap and spent the most money I ever have on a year long business course. Which inspired me to invest in furthering my skills behind the chair. Which lead me to invest in new tools. Going over my finances and seeing that number hit HARD! Was it worth it? Every single penny was worth it! The skills I learned will last forever. The tools, I work with everyday, will help me create beauty in so many new ways.
This was my form of self care (in a really stressful, super busy way 🤓). I made the decision that I was worth it, I needed growth, I wanted to level up and I had to prevent burnout. Education has ALWAYS been my go-to when I start to feel less creative and burnt out. It brings me back to my purpose, my love of hair and this amazing career.
