We serve Indiana Township and surrounding communities. Our mission at Seneca Area EMS i
Seneca Area Emergency Services has proudly served the residents and businesses of Indiana Township since 1995.
Unfortunately, at this time, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to terminate all services and liquidate the company, starting January 1st, 2024.
This was not a choice that was made lightly. Every option was considered, and great care was made to ensure that the people of Indiana Township would be left in the best hands.
That being said, starting the first of the year, all medical services will be turned over to West Deer EMS.
In addition, after discussion with Director Humes, all Seneca subscriptions will be honored through August 2024 when West Deer EMS' subscription drive starts.
It has been an honor serving each and every one of you. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Indiana Township Supervisors for all of the support throughout these many years, Indiana's 3 fire departments and police department for their assistance and protection.
Another thank you to the board, Director Humes, and staff of West Deer EMS for their guidance, support, friendship, and, most importantly, continued care of the residents.
Lastly, thank you to the residents and businesses of Indiana Township for the opportunity to serve you for 28 years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Chief Anthony Cuda.
Along with Chief and EMS instructor, Mr. Cuda held many positions within the EMS community throughout his tenure. It goes without saying his absence will be felt by many.
We love getting to make posts like this!
Congratulations are in order. After months of studying, tests, and time in the field, Sarah Niell has satisfied all requirements to become a Nationally Registered Paramedic.
SAEMS sends our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Paramedic Shannon McKruit.
Please keep the Fitzhenry family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
It is with great sadness that we share the word of the passing and share the details of the viewing for Dan Fitzhenry.
Dan held many positions that greatly benefited the Allegheny County EMS community and many communities locally and nationally as a provider, manager, attorney, and educator.
To say that Dan was a significant part of the bedrock of Allegheny County EMS is a fact. As the first Allegheny County EMS Coordinator he strongly influenced the growth of the earlier days of ACEMS developing both the first EMS disaster plan for Allegheny County and forming the Disaster Operations Group or DOG Team, among many other EMS focused accomplishments.
Please keep Diane and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Often easier said than done, but a necessary component to mental health. I challenge everyone to take 5 minutes and unwind.
2 out of every 3 caregivers in the US are women + have a greater risk for poor physical + mental health, including depression + anxiety. As a caregiver, taking care of yourself + getting the help you need is important.

I'd like to say a big thank you to representatives from Seneca Area EMS and Lower Valley Ambulance - Emergency Medical Services for attending this month's Board of Supervisors meeting. Both Seneca Chief Bill Alexander and Lower Valley Chief Jamey Lavelle shared valuable insights into their operations and expressed a strong desire to collaborate on a sustainable long-term plan for EMS in Indiana Township.
Please keep an eye on your mailbox for subscription mailers from our EMS providers. I received mine yesterday from Seneca and just sent back my subscription payment and donation. Seneca services Indiana Township's District 1 (Agricultural Zone), District 4 (Middle Road), and my neck of the woods, District 5 (Fairview). If you live in District 2 (Dorseyville) and District 3 (Rural Ridge) your provider is Lower Valley EMS.
Our EMS providers are independent nonprofits that currently do not receive taxpayer dollars from the Township. To maintain this business model, our EMS providers need residents to purchase subscriptions and make donations. A subscription could also save you significant money should you need ambulance service in the coming year. So please don't miss the opportunity to purchase a subscription and help support the EMS providers who work so hard to keep us safe.
