🕐 Youth Track: (1 - 4 PM) Engage in fun activities, learn about staying active with diabetes, sick day prevention and connect with peers.

Symposium highlights include:
▶ Interactive workshops and panel discussions led by healthcare professionals.
▶ Free A1C testing for the first 25 participants in the morning and afternoon sessions.
▶ Raffle prizes, including scholarships to the renowned Camp Hope for children with diabetes.
▶ Appearances by the "Balloon Lady."

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a variety of Wyoming organizations, including Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, are stepping up to provide vital resources for those affected by breast cancer.

Dr. Alana Workman, an oncologist at Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, noted that a cancer diagnosis brings a mix of emotions, including fear and hope. She emphasized the importance of comprehensive care—addressing both medical and non-medical needs—through multidisciplinary approaches, patient education, support services, and survivorship programs, which together enhance patient outcomes and the overall experience.

During this important month, organizations like the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI), Wyoming Cancer Program (WCP), Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC), and the American Cancer Society are committed to providing essential resources for our community. Together, we can raise awareness and support those battling breast cancer.

Health care providers, nonprofits support Wyomingites with breast cancer CHEYENNE – A breast cancer diagnosis is a highly emotional experience for any of the hundreds of women and men who are diagnosed every year.

Despite a tough loss for the Cowboys in Laradise, our Cheyenne Regional sponsor game was a hit! We proudly honored our brave servicemen and women during Military Appreciation Day 🇺🇸. Plus, we had a great time participating in the Wyoming Medical Society's annual event. What a weekend of community and celebration!

We’re proud to launch our innovative Emergency Department Blood Kiosk, thanks to a generous grant from the CRMC Foundation. This groundbreaking technology allows emergency staff to access life-saving blood transfusions in just 30 seconds—down from nine minutes!

As the first hospital in Wyoming to implement this kiosk, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is committed to enhancing patient safety and care. This is a major step forward in our mission to provide the highest standard of emergency care to our community.

"We are thrilled to introduce the Emergency Department Blood Kiosk, which represents a significant leap forward in our ability to provide rapid, life-saving care," said Jennifer Dykshorn, Manager of the Trauma Program at CRMC. "This technology underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care when every second counts."

A huge shoutout to our very own Corey Miller, Virtualization and Storage Engineer II, who recently competed in the International Federation of Armwrestling World Armwrestling Championships in Greece! 🇬🇷💪

He dominated the competition, winning both the left-handed and right-handed titles in the Masters Men (86 kg) category! Congratulations, Corey, on this amazing achievement! 🏆

Due to hurricane-related flooding and damage at Baxter International’s North Cove manufacturing plant in North Carolina, there is a nationwide shortage of intravenous (IV) fluids, which is anticipated to last through January 2025.

Cheyenne Regional has proactively implemented appropriate measures to ensure we remain fully operational for all patients, and we will continue to evaluate IV supply availability during this time.

It was chilly, but beautiful morning at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. A special “thank you” to our Davis Hospice team for participating. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. 💜💜💜

The Forensic Nursing Department hosted an informational table in the West campus lobby on Oct. 17, where we shared important statistics and resources about domestic violence.
