We’re happy to announce that we’ve expanded our Healthy Habits program to school-age children at the Children’s Learning and Play Daycare in Englewood ✨
Earlier this year we launched the Healthy Habits Program to engage the Englewood community in developing healthy physical and mental health habits. This program aims to educate and provide workshops focusing on tackling trauma, heart health, nutrition, disease prevention, and maintaining healthy relationships.

It's important to highlight how we can all make a difference by supporting each other on our self-care journeys and building safe communities.
We are here to remind you to check in with yourself, reach out to someone in need, and practice self-compassion.
Street Intervention/Outreach refers to actively working in “the streets” to engage individuals at immediate or high risk of being gun violence victims or perpetrators. Our Outreach staff are known as “trusted messengers” in the community. Our relationships with the community allow Outreach teams to mediate existing and potentially violent incidents.
Outreach Activities:
- Building trusting relationships with high-risk individuals
- Mediating existing and potential conflicts to prevent incidents of violence
- Proactively engaging individuals/groups to prevent the onset of violent conflict
- Civic Engagement
- Community Organizing

Violence prevention and mental health experts will present at this event including Executive Director Tony Woods, Association of Black Psychologists National President Dr. Sharon Bethea, GRO Community Founder Aaron Mallory, and Blue Door Neighborhood Center Mental Health Advocate Dr. Obari Cartman.
The goal is to develop action-ready solutions to decrease violence and mental health issues impacting our black and brown communities.

Community violence is a serious issue in , and it is well known that Black and Brown communities on the South and West sides of the city are disproportionately impacted.
Over the past three years, has contributed to the reduction of homicides and shootings in the East and West Englewood neighborhoods through street outreach, case management, and victim advocacy.
