/ Anais Nin /
"Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell was a French-born American diarist, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories and erotica. Born to Cuban parents in France, Nin was the daughter of the composer Joaquín Nin and the classically trained singer Rosa Culmell. Nin spent her early years in Spain and Cuba, about sixteen years in Paris, and the remaining half of her life in the United States, where she became an established author. Nin wrote journals prolifically from age eleven until her death. Her journals, many of which were published during her lifetime, detail her private thoughts and personal relationships. Her journals also describe her marriages to Hugh Parker Guiler and Rupert Pole, in addition to her numerous affairs, including those with psychoanalyst Otto Rank and writer Henry Miller, both of whom profoundly influenced Nin and her writing."

Emotions come to life
Expressive Oil Paintings Highlight Inner Thoughts and Emotions Through Flurries of Brushstrokes Instead of rendering the human form as it appears in real life, this artist emphasizes the intangible emotions of each subject through abstract applications of color.

Negative thoughts are normal, we don't have to invest in them!
Today’s affirmation art: I’m not ashamed of the negative thoughts I get because I know they don’t define who i am 💜 I’ve made affirmations with a similar message to this before, but it’s one that I often need reminding of. Sometimes social media can conjure up negative thoughts in us: feelings of jealousy, resentment, and bitterness. Sometimes all the bad news can even trigger intrusive thoughts. I remind myself that negative thoughts are natural and are not a representation of my character because I don’t allow them to harmfully impact my actions. The negative thoughts you feel are an inevitability of life. We don’t always think positive things and sometimes fall into spirals of toxic thinking. It doesn’t make you a bad person.
💜💜💜
Y’all! Exactly 2 years to the day, I took the leap into private practice. It’s been such an incredibly rewarding (and challenging) experience. Running a business is tough work. Imposter syndrome definitely reared it’s ugly head, a lot.
But when I take a moment to pause and reflect on the work, on the whys, on the lives I’ve been given permission to walk alongside, I am honored. You have allowed me to be your companion while you find your strength, your resilience, your true self, your inner wisdom and for that, I am forever grateful.
Today’s affirmation art: It’s OK to feel lost sometimes. You’ll find your way eventually 💜 Sometimes late at night when I’m trying to sleep, my anxiety rears it’s ugly head and I start panicking over where my life is going. In those moments, I remind myself that it is a blessing to have a life not set in stone, and that moves, grows, and changes in unexpected ways. Sometimes the uncertainty is a good thing; my life is a river with endless streams leading to the ocean. 💙💙💙
Inviting everyone to join me in taking the uncomfortable dive into questioning your own privilege, and more deeply understanding who you are in the world. Who do you want to be?
Everyone stay safe during these times of unrest. Have the courage to do what is right for you.
