It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our brother Aaron Buckley of Ambulance 51. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Buckley family, especially his wife and children durning this difficult time.

🔥🔥 HEAT ALERT 🔥🔥

Please, please, please monitor your pets when they go out to potty this weekend! It's dangerously hot with the heat index 105 degrees and higher this afternoon. Already too many hospitalized dogs who have collapsed with heat exhaustion/heat stroke from only being outside for 20 minutes. Veterinarians are seeing dogs with an internal temperature of 109 (high normal is about 102) and their organs essentially are melting inside the body. Those dogs do not survive.

Short nose breeds like Boxers, bulldogs, and others are at higher risk so monitor them closely.

Also do not walk your dog on the sidewalk or street until tonight or early morning. Those surface Temps will burn their paw pads quickly.

If your pet does experience any of these symptoms today after being outside, take them immediately to your veterinarian. You can cool them with room temp water on your way to us. Do not use ice or cold water if they are having these symptoms as it can cause the body more damage.

Well, today was the day! At 0900 the moving truck showed up and we were placed out of service until basic moving was done. A mixture of on and off duty members all helped get the new house in service in a somber, yet optimistic mood. Engine Co. 115 is now back out running around the streets of West Pullman, as it has for the last 113 years, but the last time as a single engine house.

Tommorow brings about two new historic events, The closing of the last single Hook and Ladder house, Truck 24, and the beginning of Tower Ladder 24. Again, somber, yet optimistic.

Wednesday will bring the final piece of the trifecta, as our friends over at Engine Co. 75 head over to complete the Mansion On Morgan.

As all this stuff happens, we'll try to take some time to take pics and share with all of our followers!

We’ve have just been notified by the city that the new firehouse dedication on the 6th has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict with the mayor and will still happen at a later date to be announced.
The move in dates for the companies will still stay on schedule!

It’s Official!!!!!
New firehouse dedication will be March 6th. Time to be announced soon!
E115 will move in first on March 8th.
Tower 24 will move in on March 9th.
E75 will move in on March 10th.
A76 and A5 will move in on the dates with their respective Engine Co’s.
As far as 4-5-6 moving in, we have not been given a exact date yet.
A29 will be going to E121’s house and be doubled up with their ambo as well.

Everyone is safe after a few close calls in the Bridgeport neighborhood this morning. 2 firefighters barely making it off the roof via ground ladder before being over taken by flames and another firefighter jumping from the fire buildings roof to an adjacent structure! Training, awareness, and teamwork pay off.....

During the last week we have been able to take a tour of the inside to see the progress! With still no official move in date, we’re happy to know they want the house to be fully functional in every way before we make the big move! Here are some sneak peek pictures for our fans.......

We are getting word that our new firehouse is going to be completed very soon. Even though we don’t have an exact date yet, this move is going to be bittersweet for all of us. Some of our members have spent 15+ years here and the firehouse it self has been standing for 113 years. Some of our members took some pictures to look back on during shift change this last week! Good times were had, and good times will continue!

It is with great sadness we announce the loss of one of our active members.
Chicago Fire Department Paramedic-in-Charge Robert Truevillian has passed away due to COVID-19. He joined the CFD as a Paramedic in December of 2000, currently assigned to Amb 71.
Please keep Rob and his family in your prayers at this difficult time! 🙏🏼

Just got done taking these pictures today of Engine co 115,Engine Co 75, and Tower ladder co 24, and ambo 29, ambo 5,ambo 76s,New house,on a 119thst & Morgan, just talked to one of the contractors and he told me that it should be opening in 2 week's, or 3 week's,maybe, can't wait!!!
