“I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while, but I just wanted to share my experience with third coast. I sent in my elitist Sheraton for a complete top refinish in august of last year (I am out of state, but had heard good things about third coast). Chris Kingston took care of all the logistics, was extremely knowledgeable, polite, and timely in his responses. Furthermore, the work is STELLAR!!! I don’t need to say much about the difficulty of the job, but the entire top was resprayed in 3 months and the guitar was returned to me good as new! As if this wasn’t enough, the price was extremely reasonable considering the scope of work.

I am a big fan, and if, in the future I need a job done correctly, in a timely manner and for a reasonable price, third coast will be at the top of my list.”

✔️1965 Pre-CBS Fender Staratocaster Restoration: Complete.

Originally adorned with a captivating starburst finish, this particular 1965 Fender Stratocaster’s original charm had been concealed beneath a hand-applied polyurethane finish. While this modification may have protected the guitar, it robbed it of the vintage aesthetic and resonance that enthusiasts cherish.

As we refinished, the original starburst finish emerged and the true character of the instrument began to reveal itself. We nailed the application of the 3-tone sunburst finish that required a blend of artistry and technical skill.

In the world of vintage guitar enthusiasts, finding a 1965 Fender Stratocaster with a neck heel stamp of January 2 is a rarity. To have one meticulously restored to its original 3-tone sunburst finish adds an extra layer of significance.

If the walls could talk, all the stories they’d tell.

As we prepare to move to the Northside in early 2024, we’re feeling sentimental about of our years on Racine.
