Great question, in many situations my coworkers have not seen eye to eye with me. Whether this has been disputing the edibility of an artificial Christmas tree, Christmas tree lights, gloves, barbies, horses, dinosaurs, crayons, markers, cans, plastic containers, planters, winter jackets, socks, pool noodles or even high value items like cordless pool cleaner vacuums; the thing to remember is to stay positive.

To provide a specific example, I was told by my boss to stop grabbing food off the counter. I feel if food is on the counter, it is up for grabs and there should not be any rules around who should be allowed to take it. After several attempts to demonstrate this point, my boss decided to always put food away even items that have come right from the oven like bread or muffins. Not something I would do but at the end of the day policies are in place for a reason.

She is always around and never leaves me alone in the house anymore. My mom occasionally takes me for mid day walks and I am able to see my "cousins" who also work from home. These are just a few of the reasons that I love working from home and I suggest more of us do it." 🐶

"My biggest strength would have to be my attention to detail. I always look for ways to make things easier by assessing situations and coming up with ways to add value. For example, in my line of work. I am in charge of three direct reports (or tiny hoomans if we are being technical) if one of them needs to get something from a counter, bookshelf, ledge, and they are too short to reach I give them a boost to make sure they safely reach the object they are trying to procure. I also do many spot checks of the floor several times a day to ensure all food debris dropped by said hoomans is promptly addressed. "

I've thought a lot about what drives me to be the best at what I do and after much self-reflection, I realize it's food. Food left on the counter, table, crumbs that drop on the floor, dog treats, even things that have the scent of food, like a napkin, or even a cardboard box that held food.

"There was a small period of time when my coworkers didn't let me sleep in bed with them because they said, "I took up too much room".

I was persistent and pushed for the solution that I felt was best for everyone. I resolved this conflict by knocking down the gates that were used to keep me out and repeatedly sneaking into bed with them once they were asleep. After many nights of hard work, we came to a compromise that I would sleep in their bed every night. Now everyone is happy, and I sleep very well through the night. "

Breaking news! Be a MATCH, that doesn't get PASSED or end up on the NO HIRE list... Get a WIN, an OFFER and HIRE! BlockForce Recruiters share the key areas that will make or break you getting a new job...

𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 7 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮...

1 TAILOR YOUR RESUME
If your resume doesn't properly reflect how your work history and skills "𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇" the job you are applying for, you will be "𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃" by the AI or the recruiter.

2 PROOFREAD YOUR RESUME
Don't submit a resume with misspellings or poor grammar. This almost always results in a "𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒' because most hiring managers conclude you can't communicate effectively.

3 BE PROMPT
Acknowledge a text or call from a recruiter within 24 hours, even if no longer interested. Follow-up puts you on the "Match" list and betters your chances for an interview, offer, or 𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐄.

4 AT ALL COST... FOR THE LOVE OF... DON'T RESCHEDULE!
Rescheduling an interview after confirmation is sent, leaves a bad impression and casts doubts whether you "𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲" or not.

5 DON'T BE RUDE WHEN YOU RECEIVE A REJECTION
Your response could impact a future opportunity with that company or other companies. Keep in mind: Negative reactions could land you on the 𝐍𝐎 hire list.

6 DO YOUR RESEARCH
This one has always been a must-do, but so many applicants come unprepared. Research the company and the role you are interviewing for. This shows you are actively interested in the position and gives you a "𝐖𝐈𝐍" over other candidates.

7 SEND A THANK YOU
Hand-written thank-you notes seem to be a thing of the past. Get the interviewer's email and send a follow up email thanking them for their time. This will give you a "𝐖𝐈𝐍" over other candidates.
