Mohammed’s journey from child laborer to computer engineer proves that education is the key to unlocking endless possibilities.

Mohammed was one of the first children to join Karam Family program, along with his family. He had been out of school for over three years and was working long hours at a gas station, a job considered dangerous for a child. In 2015, Mohammed's family received support from the program, allowing him to return to school starting in the 9th grade. He continued his studies and successfully graduated from high school. Mohammed was also among the first participants in the studio program, graduating in its inaugural ceremony. Just one month ago, Mohammed graduated as a computer engineer.

On the 11th anniversary of the Ghouta chemical attack in Syria, we pause to remember the 1144 innocent lives that were lost in one of the most horrific atrocities of our time.

This day marks a dark chapter in history, a reminder of the devastating consequences of oppression and violence against unprotected communities. As we reflect on the pain and injustice, we renew our commitment to stand against such cruelty, not just in Syria but everywhere.

They depend on our transportation to get to school, 22 km away in Mafraq. Without it, they would be unable to exercise their right to an education.

Here’s another amazing project by Sawsan from Mechanized Rituals Studio. This robotic arm is designed to assist in the creation of raw meatballs, a cornerstone of many Middle Eastern cuisines. Sawsan’s robotic arm is equipped with precise movements that mimic the actions of a human hand. It can mix and shape the raw meatballs. This level of automation not only saves time but also ensures consistent quality and hygiene.

By automating this process, Sawsan aims to preserve cultural heritage while embracing technological advancements. Through this project, Sawsan has honed her skills in programming, enabling her to control the robotic arm with precision.

We are happy to share the heartwarming visit of the Syrian-American Osman Family to Karam House in Reyhanli. Anas, Suzan, Malik, Hana, and Amir Osman, engaging with the community and doing fun activities with the refugee youth.

Malik and Hana have demonstrated a deep commitment to advocating for refugees. During their visit, they shared their plans to continue supporting our mission through various fundraising efforts. Malik just ran the Sam Francisco marathon, raising over $14,000 for Karam.

The Refugee Olympic Team is a symbol of hope and resilience. These incredible athletes have overcome unimaginable challenges to compete on the world's biggest stage!

Every refugee deserves to dream, and at Karam, we offer a safe space for them to dream, learn, and grow!

We engage the kids in various fun and creative activities. They choose their favorite animals for face drawing, and we photograph them against a jungle background to make them feel like they are on a wild adventure. They also participate in an automata activity, where they make planes out of cut wood pieces, learning how to assemble and decorate their creations. Outside the container, we organize dancing and movement activities, where the kids enjoy various fun and energetic exercises and games.

These photos capture their joy as they explore, create, and build lasting friendships at Uzumdal camp.

This project was created by Mulham in Devices for Good studio. It’s a game board that aims to change the stereotypical image of Syrian refugees by introducing the rich culture and history of Syria, showcasing their resilience and ability to change their reality even in the face of hardships.

The game board features a map of Syria divided into its provinces. Each province highlights notable archaeological sites and various religious symbols distributed across the map to represent Syria's cultural and religious diversity. This interactive design allows players to explore and appreciate the deep-rooted heritage and coexistence within Syria, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for the Syrian people.

Mulham's project is just one example of the incredible things our students create in our educational programs. We provide a space for them to explore their ideas, develop skills, and become the next generation of innovators!

Reports of renewed fear and uncertainty among Syrian refugees in Turkiye and Lebanon are deeply concerning. The basic right to safety and the ability to rebuild lives with dignity are fundamental for everyone. In recent weeks, the situation has escalated, with alarming incidents of violence and hate crimes targeting Syrian refugees. Many Syrians are living in fear, afraid to leave their homes due to the threat of harassment and violence. Karam Foundation stands firmly with all displaced communities who have been forced to flee their homes and loved ones.

Our hearts are with those enduring these challenging times. We stand with our partners, students, and their families, hoping for a peaceful resolution that ensures the safety and dignity of all displaced individuals.
