A warm welcome to the new online MSL cohort that commenced their 2024-2025 academic year with orientation this week. And, welcome back to those online students continuing their MSL studies. Here's to a great year.
The MSL’s Annual Symposium has seen many iterations since it’s 2019 launch, but this year's capstone event welcomed a new twist featuring presentations by several alumni. Thank you to this year’s participants for demonstrating how MSL alumni are using their degrees in a variety of fields, including business, finance, medical device development, AI, and more.

It's always a pleasure to recognize the achievements of our faculty! Congratulations to Professor Sarah Lawsky for earning the 2024 Martin E. and Gertrude G. Walder Award for Research Excellence at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law . 🏆
Professor Lawsky has taught federal income tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, tax policy, tax deals, and contracts. Her research focuses on tax law and on the application of formal logic and artificial intelligence to the law. The Walder Award recognizes her international impact at the intersection of law, AI, and policy.

The MSL is a great option for individuals looking for an interdisciplinary approach to business education, either in addition to or instead of an MBA. For those without prior business training, the curriculum covers traditional business topics taught from a multidisciplinary perspective – business strategy, income tax, securities regulation, accounting, and others. All students (including those with MBAs or other business training) choose from a robust list of courses in areas such as contracts, AI & technology, privacy, data, regulation, healthcare, fintech, intellectual property, entrepreneurial finance, compliance, and more.
The MSL can be completed in 2-4 years in a flexible, part-time online program, or in one academic year of full-time study in Chicago.
