Children’s Research Triangle was honored to be a Women Leaders in Philanthropy, a giving group of the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation, grantee last year.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to su***de, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by su***de. It’s also a time to raise awareness about su***de prevention and share messages of hope.

EVERYONE can play a role in su***de prevention. Know the warning signs of su***de and offer support. Seek help for yourself or others by calling or texting 988 or by chatting with 988Lifeline.org.

Today is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day. FASD affects 1% to 5% of first graders in the U.S. and can cause a range of intellectual and behavioral problems, which appear at any time during childhood and last a lifetime.

Children's Research Triangle began as an organization serving children and families impacted by FASD and this remains one of our areas of expertise.

Our 25th year of Camp SOAR is in the books!

Over two weeks in July, Camp SOAR welcomed 85 campers supported by 120 counselors, leaders, and staff.

We are so grateful to all of our volunteers and donors who make these two magical weeks possible for children and youth with developmental disabilities.

Camp SOAR camper Wyatt is donating proceeds from Wyatt's Dog Company to camp! He's been collecting donations at Robyn's Nest in Arlington Heights, where his dog treats are sold. Thank you, Wyatt!

Fundraisers by campers and counselors are an important part of Camp SOAR's ability to welcome 85+ children and youth with developmental disabilities to a week-long summer camp annually. Providing a Camp SOAR experience exceeds $1,500 per camper.

Behavioral health equity for Chicago’s Black and Brown youth is a guiding principle at CRT. We use a community-based health service model to reach communities with barriers to accessing mental health services. 67% of children and families served by CRT are Black, served through schools, homeless and domestic violence shelters, vet centers, and social service agencies in Chicago's underserved neighborhoods. This community-based programming supports CRT’s efforts to reduce mental health treatment disparities.
