Michael Jordan, who will turn 60 on Feb. 17, has donated $10 million to Make-A-Wish America, a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Jordan's donation is the largest in Make-A-Wish's 43-year history, the organization said. https://gma.abc/3jVU0eS

Napoleon at the Movies - Museum of Fine Arts Marysia i Napoleon, designed by Napoleon Zamfir. Film: Poland, 1966; poster: Romania, 1966. “I saw the Emperor – this world-soul – riding out of the city on reconnaissance. It is indeed a wonderful sensation to see such an individual, who, concentrated here at a single point, astride a horse, reaches out over the world and masters it.”
― Georg Hegel
250 years ago today, Napoleon was born in Ajaccio. The world has never been the same.

To our members: It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our long time Board Member, Vice President and friend Danny Adolfe. Danny was a world renown military expert and one of the nicest guys you would ever hope to meet. We will all miss him and pass on our sincerest condolences to his family.
I saw the story on 60 minutes last night on Cuba and felt I should pass along the implications it may have for you. The story was a very pro Havana piece touting the wonders of the town and lamenting the upcoming implementation of visiting policy. If true, it will become far more difficult to visit Havana in the foreseeable future, certainly without a guide hovering over your every move. If so, then going to our conference in October may be your last chance to have a modicum of freedom of movement in Cuba for a long time. This makes to wonderful opportunity of attending this year's conference all the more compelling. If not now, then when?
So those of you sitting on the fence, make the leap and join us, in what promises to be a wonderful conference and a unique experience.
Happy Bastille day everyone. We hope to see you in Cuba for a spectacular conference. Bonne Fete!
Happy Father's day to all our friends on this anniversary of Waterloo. We hope to see you all soon!
We hope that many of you will join us in Cuba for our annual conference. Because this event is being held outside of the usual venue of the USA or Canada, it is best to prepare early. Visas can take some time to obtain, so the sooner you start the process, the less stressful it will be. We have access to some great items of interest scheduled and it really is something to take advantage of if at all possible. We hope to see you all in Havana.
I hope everyone is having the best of Holiday seasons. We are celebrating the Napoleonic Entrennes. A time for friends to get together. I hope you all are having the opportunity to meet with every one your friends and family and are catching up for lost time. Bonne Fete!

We received the sad news of the passing of our former president Shep Paine yesterday. For all of those who knew him in the many fields he mastered, I know you will share my sadness in his loss. Shep RIP
We will have spectacular Conference in Toronto, August 28-30. Great speakers, wonderful events, a tour of the Southern Ontario War of 1812, that I can personally recommend, having been on it once before, and great food and company. All that is missing right now is you. Do not miss this event!
Just got back from Waterloo reenactment where we had many members attending or participating. Quite an event!

Two presidents and an emperor in New Orleans!
Hello my friends,
The conference ion New Orleans, November 14-16 is shaping up to be one of our very best. We have just confirmed that Alexander Mikaberidze will speak. Alex is, as many of you know the leading historian of Napoleonic Russia, perhaps the best ever, as well as having a fair view of all sides. We will be honored to have him join us and I encourage everyone to attend. Book soon as rooms are running short.
Dear Friends,
We are reminded that we are one year away from the sad 200th anniversary of Waterloo. However, our plans are moving forward and we hope that you can join us.
I have just returned from running the annual May Napoleonic tour and can say we had a great time in Champagne. We got to all relevant museums in the area as well as visiting every sight in the 1814 campaign. Here is our HQ, which happened to also host Napoleon, Marmont and Blucher ( at different times)
