I was blessed and fortunate to have the most amazing woman as my Mom, and as my best friend. She was loving, caring, selfless, strong, funny, never judged, always there to listen, and somehow gave thee best advice. I frequently reflect on the many things she taught me.

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation organizes this event and all proceeds go to the CPMF which provides
support and financial assistance to the families of Chicago Police Officers who were killed or catastrophically
injured in the line of duty.

The Italian Pizzelle (pronounced, pitˈtsɛlle or phonetically: pit-sell, pit-zay-lay) cookie originated in the Abruzzo region of south-central Italy, another one of the regions of my Italian heritage. My Mom and I would make anise pizzelles and chocolate pizzelles every holiday season. One of my fondest memories of the holidays is cooking with my Mom and all of the things I would learn from her by simply spending that time in the kitchen with her. I still do my best to keep up our traditions, although I could never do it as amazing as she.

Feast of the Seven Fishes (also known as Festa dei Sette Pesci or La Vigilia) originated in Southern Italy. Part of
my Italian heritage is Sicilian, so the Seven Fishes has been a steady tradition for generations in my family.
There is a lot of history behind this feast which I will leave you all to google to keep this short. I will say, I
always prepare more than seven different types of fish dishes, just in case and I filleted the fish and shucked the oysters myself!
