Join us on September 26 for an evening of poetry in translation! Celebrating the rich linguistic heritage that makes up European and global literary traditions, three Chicago-based poets, poetry translators, and scholars will read selections from their work in Spanish, Italian, Yiddish, and French.
Massimiliano L. Delfino (Northwestern University) will read from his recent Italian-language poetry, and Anna Elena Torres (University of Chicago) will read from her translations from the Yiddish of multilingual poet and philosopher Debora Vogel. Rachel Galvin (University of Chicago) will share selections from her translations of the work of Raymond Queneau, co-founder of the French literary movement Oulipo, and from the poetry of Argentinian avant-garde poet Oliverio Girondo.
The evening will be introduced by Célie Landry, Operations & Project Coordinator at the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago, and the readings will be followed by a reception.

The Chicago Underground Film Festival will present two screenings of the experimental film "Orphei Fabuale" by Italian artist Mataro da Vergato. The film is inspired by Poliziano's "Orfeo" and is part of a trilogy exploring the connection between digital art, sound, movement and words.

L’Aeronautica Militare è a 🇺🇸 per il North America Tour e proprio qui, il 27 luglio, le Frecce Tricolori hanno steso il tricolore italiano 🇮🇹 colorando il cielo di una delle città più iconiche degli Stati Uniti e catturando gli sguardi emozionati dei tanti italiani e italo-americani che si sono radunati per vederle.
Al Navy Pier era presente anche il Console Generale italiano a Chicago, Dottor Thomas Botzios e il Gen. S.A. Luigi Del Bene, in rappresentanza del Capo di Stato Maggiore dell’Aeronautica Gen. S.A. Luca Goretti.

The pilots of are referred to as “Pony.” The name refers to the livery that was originally painted on the tails of the squadron Cavallino Rampante (little prancing horse) which gave birth in 1961 to a flight group dedicated to collective aerobatics and to the representation of the Italian Air Force and Italy in all events, at home and abroad.

The flying team includes 10 ITAF combat-ready pilots (9 plus the solo) coming from operational squadrons. After an accurate and difficult selection, they enter Frecce Tricolori team, where they spend part of their career before returning to operational squadrons.

The ICoN Consortium offers 10 scholarships covering partial tuition fees for self-study enrolment in the first semester of the first year of the Bachelor’s degree program in Italian Language and Culture (didactic-linguistic curriculum and arts, music, and entertainment curriculum). These scholarships are reserved for foreign citizens and Italians residing abroad who meet the requirements for enrollment in an Italian university.

will return to Chicago on July 27th after 30 years! A tour of Canada and US commemorates the Columbus 92 mission, when the Frecce were last in North America. The 313th Aerobatic Training Squadron, best known as Frecce Tricolori, is the Italian Air Force Aerobatic Team. The Squadron has had its headquarter in Udine-Rivolto ever since its birth in 1961 and is formed of about 100 men and women, Officers and NCOs of the Italian Air Force.
