“Under all is the land” is a phrase familiar to REALTORS® today as the opening words of the Code of Ethics’ preamble, setting forth the social responsibilities of the association and its members.
What you may not know, is that the original 1913 Code of Ethics included no preamble. The famous introduction was written by Arthur H. Barnhisel, a real estate broker and Presbyterian minister from Tacoma, WA, and added to the Code under the revisions adopted by the National Association 100 years ago, in June 1924.
Check out our featured eBook of the Month: Secrets of Power Negotiating
Secrets of Power Negotiating covers every aspect of the negotiating process with practical, proven advice, from beginning steps to critical final moves: how to recognize unethical tactics, key principles of the Power Negotiating strategy, why money is not as important as everyone thinks, negotiating pressure points, understanding the other party and gaining the upper hand, and analyses of different negotiating styles.
