Celebration Of Life:
Mr. Limmie Edwards
Welcome to the MAC Checkup Meeting Worship Service at Martin Temple
The Martin Temple church family is beyond proud of the accomplishments of our own, Erin Barnett, founder and director of Black Girls Dance!!
I’m so inspired by organizations in my hometown of Chicago that are not only clearing away the barriers that girls face, but also creating opportunities for them to reach their full potential.
That’s why we are thrilled to support Black Girls Dance through the Girls Opportunity Alliance. Their program encourages girls to pursue their passion for dance by providing access to dance lessons and opportunities to perform onstage — including at the Obama Foundation’s Democracy Forum in Chicago last year.
But the program is not just about dance. It’s about confidence. It’s about growth. It’s about passion.
We’re so proud that this year, funding from the Girls Opportunity Alliance will help support 200 girls to get training in dance styles like ballet, hip-hop, and jazz — all leading up to a spring performance celebrating trailblazers from history through dance.
I’m so moved by this work — and I hope you’ll support organizations like this all year long at www.gofundme.org/girls-opportunity-alliance.
