dietary fiber, prebiotics, vitamin c, e, & k, copper, potassium, folate, and aids in gut motility, supports immune function, heart health, and can support mental well-being due to the fair amount of serotonin based on a few studies. Kiwi also contains an enzyme called actinidin, which can aid in the digestion of protein!

Let's talk microplastics πͺ£ Did you know that 190,000 tonnes of micropplastic waste entering the oceans each year due to fashion! these microplastics are causing reproductive issues and non-human animals are consuming these microplastics and getting sick or dying off. π Many materials used in our clothing purchases contain plastic. And, humans and non-human animals are exploited to produce these fashion items that are so often discarded. 𧀠So what can we do? β¨ Choose materials like cotton, linen, bamboo, tencel, or h**p when possible. β¨ Limit or stop purchasing items that contain polyester, synthetic textiles, wool, leather, silk, fur, and down. β¨ Buy pre-loved clothes instead of new items. β¨ Watch documentaries like the "True Cost" or "Ghosts in our Machine" β¨ Look at the tags of the items you already own and educate yourself so that you are ready to make an educated purchase next time. Lastly, don't be hard on yourself as you process this new information. Progress over perfection will always take you farther in your journey! π€
~ Never have I ever bought myself some "just because" flowers at the farmers market. πΌ So, after driving with my husband to work I stopped by and took a much needed walk through Lincoln Park and supported a few of my favorite local vendors. There is something about farmers markets that make me so authentically happy. Stopped by my fav for π + for that good good local tofu! Will be sharing what I make with them later in my stories! Starting to feel a little more at home in our new place! π€ ~ Feeling grateful today. βοΈ Happy Saturday friends!
