🏠 Get ready to come Home 2100 E. 87th St Chicago, IL 60649! CavalierS, We have great news for you. The tailgating party for the Homecoming 2024 will be held on the campus of Chicago Vocational. More details are on the way.

📌 Please note that the Chicago Public Schools will not allow High School teams to tailgate at their stadiums or parking lots this year, 2024. The Chicago Police will be enforcing this matter. However, we are determined to bring the fun and motivation back home! We aim for our students to witness a Gold Standard, and we will not settle for anything tired, tacky, or tasteless. Let’s make the tailgating party 2024 a memorable and enjoyable event for our alumni, students, staff, and community. Help spread the word, and stay tuned for more details.

Hey Cavaliers, it's time for some good news! We need all of you to decorate your vehicles for the homecoming game. We have special guests attending, and we want to show them how much we support our school. Decorate your car, share photos of the process, and don't forget to show off your Cavalier gear! 🏈 Our newsletter….. We would like to inform you that the original date for the homecoming football game, scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3 PM, has been rescheduled.

The new date for the homecoming football game is Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Gately Stadium, 810 E 103rd St, Chicago, IL. We encourage all alumni near in far to celebrate.

Tickets for the game are priced at $6 if purchased in advance or $8 on the day of the game. Please be advised that tickets must be acquired through the Go Fan App or VISIT GOFAN.CO by searching for “CHICAGO VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.” Kindly note that tickets can no longer be obtained in person or with cash, so we encourage you to secure your tickets in advance.

Let's remember our school songs from CVS. These songs represent different eras and showcase the school's evolution. It's a testament to our rich history and shouldn't take away from any class year. The songs we cherish are:

🇺🇸 Marching Orders 

The cVs alumni association is dedicated to establishing connections with Active-Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Veterans of cVs and granting them the distinguished title of “cadre” within our association.
Our primary objective is to support students interested in pursuing opportunities and careers in the US military. We also aim to provide assistance to our esteemed JROTC program, cVs Cavalier, battalion which was founded in January 1958. The JROTC is widely recognized for its character-building program, offering students the chance to develop skills applicable not only to the military but also to college and trade schools.

By extending this recruitment opportunity to our military alumni and former JROTC cadets, we aspire to showcase the diverse paths available to our students, encompassing military service combined with higher education, trade school, or entrepreneurship.

As cadre, irrespective of your branch of service, we share a unifying bond as CaValierS. We invite you to join us at our alumni events and to lend your support to the CVS Cavalier Battalion JROTC activities.

There’s no place like Home 

Chicago Vocational Alumni Association Inc. extends a warm invitation to our current students, staff, and esteemed alumni to join us in celebrating the 83rd anniversary of CaValierS. Our school has a rich history that dates back to 1937 when civic leaders, educators, and visionaries came together to establish the largest vocational school on the southside of Chicago. The groundbreaking took place in December 1938, and by 1939, the construction was completed. Initially scheduled to open in September 1940, the school board postponed the opening to September 1941.

In 1941, Chicago Vocational welcomed its first 300 freshman boys, marking the beginning of a legacy that has grown to over 10,000 alumni. To commemorate this significant milestone, a special anniversary logo was designed by Harold Williams, a member of the cVs class of 2005. The logo embodies the power and grandeur symbolized by the school's auditorium and gymnasium exteriors, along with a regal representation of our school mascot. As we celebrate 83 years of excellence and pride, we reflect on the enduring traditions and the unwavering spirit that have kept the fire of success blazing.
