Liudas Dovydenas. Lithuanian journalist, writer, and one of the most productive creators of pre war Lithuania. He published collections of domestic short stories and in 1943 published the book "Uzrahsai" in which he described the events of the Soviet occupation. The short stories he created poetically depict the pre-war village, the nature of the homeland. Some of the works contain the everyday realities of Lithuanian emigrants. Lithuanian Archives Project has a recording of an interview of Dovydenas by Voices of America that is available for listening now! This is Kazys Bradunas, Lithuanian poet and editor. He was a very beloved poet by many who would say he wrote "lyric poetry". In 1993 he won the National Prize Laureate and was one of the founders of The Earth Literary Movement. The movement was advocating for Lithuanian poetry with distinct roots in the earth, finding its inspiration from Lithuania's folklore. LAP has recently digitized a radio interview of Bradunas himself and you can listen for free here:

Labas!

For Giving Tuesday, we'd like you to consider donating to LAP so we can continue to digitize and archive our projects to keep inputting collections into our new database. We have been busy over the last few years working through our donated audio/visual/written materials and will continue to keep the Lithuanian Diaspora alive through our efforts.

We appreciate any size donation and promotion of our organization.
